ada-compliance-elfsight
ADA Compliance

ADA Compliance from Elfsight adds accessibility controls and an audit checker to a Squarespace page. Visitors can choose from ready-made modes, including Low Vision, Dyslexia-Friendly and Motor Assistance, while settings can adjust text clarity, navigation and colour contrast. The widget can scan a website for accessibility issues, provide a downloadable report and display an audit score badge. It also supports screen readers and localisation. This is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform, not native Squarespace code. You build and customise it in Elfsight's online editor, then add it to a Squarespace page using an embed code in a Code Block.

Who it suits

This may suit businesses and organisations that want visitors to have accessibility controls, and site owners who want to check for common accessibility issues and display an audit score. It can also be useful for sites serving visitors in different languages. A free plan is available to start with.

One honest caveat

The checker looks for common accessibility issues and offers suggestions, so its audit should not be treated as proof that a site meets every accessibility requirement. The score badge depends on scanning the website first. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits; paid plans remove those. The widget stops showing if the Elfsight account lapses.

Installation

Build and customise the widget in Elfsight's online editor, then copy the embed code from your Elfsight dashboard. In Squarespace, paste it into a Code Block on the page where you want the accessibility controls to appear. Later edits in the editor update automatically.

Related guide: browse more Squarespace utility and developer plugins, or the full Squarespace plugins hub.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1043/9275/3501/files/accessibility_ee69f175-1e42-4293-9dfc-29ff6d25cff8.png?v=1792059363
