Replies can be grouped into threads, with mentions, emoji reactions and like or dislike votes. This is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform, not native Squarespace code. Build it in Elfsight's online editor by choosing a template, then setting options such as moderation rules, reactions, sorting and design. You can choose a default order based on newest comments or popularity. Edits made in the Elfsight editor update automatically. The widget also includes SEO-friendly markup and tools for admins to manage comments.

Who it suits

This suits Squarespace site owners who want visitors to discuss blog posts, pages or shared interests, with options for guest participation and social sign-in. It may also suit teams that need admin moderation or want threaded replies and reactions. Users can edit or delete their own comments, but deleted comments cannot be restored. The free tier includes Elfsight branding and monthly view limits; paid plans remove those. The widget stops showing if the Elfsight account lapses, so its display depends on keeping that account active.

Installation

Choose a template and configure the widget in Elfsight's online editor. When it is ready, copy the embed code and paste it into a Squarespace Code Block where you want the comments to appear.
