Overview
PayPal Button from Elfsight lets you add a PayPal payment button to a Squarespace page for one-time purchases, recurring subscriptions or donations. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform, not native Squarespace code. In Elfsight's online editor, you can choose the payment type, set item details or subscription periods, configure donation amounts, and select a country, language and currency. The editor also lets you adjust the button's size, shape, text and colour, change the PayPal icon colour, and show or hide payment system icons. You can set tax or shipping amounts and choose a page to send customers to after a successful transaction.
Who it suits
This widget suits Squarespace site owners who want to accept PayPal payments for products or services, offer recurring subscriptions, or collect donations. It provides options for button styling, localisation and payment details without adding native Squarespace payment code. A free plan is available to start with.
One honest caveat
The payment types described are one-time purchases, subscriptions and donations, so the widget's setup is centred on those options. It relies on Elfsight's hosted editor and platform rather than working as native Squarespace code. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits; paid plans remove those. The widget stops showing if the Elfsight account lapses.
Installation
Build and customise the button in Elfsight's online editor, then copy its embed code. For an inline button, paste the code into a Squarespace Code Block where you want it to appear. For the floating layout, the vendor's instructions use site-wide Code Injection instead. Later editor changes update automatically.

The editor includes options for tax and shipping, which can be set as fixed amounts or percentages and included in the PayPal checkout total. You can also set a redirect URL for successful transactions, such as a confirmation or thank-you page. The widget supports different currencies, and its country and language settings can be chosen to suit your audience.
Button appearance is adjustable in Elfsight's editor. You can change the size, shape, text and colours, including the PayPal icon colour. The editor also lets you show or hide payment system icons beneath the button. The Squarespace vendor page describes the button as responsive on phones, tablets and desktop devices.
This is an Elfsight-hosted embed, not a native Squarespace payment feature. You build it in Elfsight's online editor and add its code to your Squarespace site. Use a Code Block for an inline button, or the vendor's site-wide Code Injection method for its floating layout. Edits made later in the editor update automatically on the site.
There is a free plan to try the widget. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits; paid plans remove those. The widget depends on the Elfsight account remaining active, as it stops showing if that account lapses.
