Overview
Portfolio from Elfsight lets you present selected projects on a Squarespace page as a browsable gallery, with categories and clickable project cards. Selecting a card opens a popup that can show photos, videos, descriptions and additional project information; project buttons can also link to case studies or other pages. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform, not native Squarespace code. You build and adjust it in Elfsight's online editor, where you can organise projects into categories, choose a layout, adjust image-grid settings and colours, and choose which information appears on project cards, on hover or in the popup. Once embedded, changes made in the editor update on your site.
Who it suits
This suits photographers, designers, developers, consultants and agencies who want to show project examples on a Squarespace page. It can also be used for student, makeup artist, tattoo or wedding portfolios, with project details shown in popups. A free plan is available to start with.
One honest caveat
Portfolio content and design are managed in Elfsight, not as native Squarespace portfolio items. Project cards open in a popup, though each project can include a button linking to an external page. On the free tier, the widget carries Elfsight branding and monthly view limits; paid plans remove those limits and branding. If your Elfsight account lapses, the widget stops showing on your site.
Installation
Choose a template in Elfsight's editor, add your projects and adjust the categories, layout and design. Copy the generated embed code and paste it into a Squarespace Code Block where you want the portfolio to appear. Later edits in the Elfsight editor update automatically.

You can choose a layout and adjust image-grid settings, colours and the arrangement of information. The editor also lets you decide what appears on hover and what visitors see after opening a project. If you would rather direct visitors to a case study, product page or live demo, a project can include a button linking to an external page.
The widget is built in Elfsight's online editor and hosted on Elfsight's platform. It is added to Squarespace by pasting its embed code into a Code Block, rather than by adding native Squarespace portfolio content. After installation, edits made in the Elfsight editor update on your site automatically.
Elfsight provides portfolio templates, including options for photography, developer, student, makeup artist, tattoo and wedding portfolios, as well as a one-page portfolio. You can start with a template or assemble a widget in the configurator. The free plan lets you try the widget, with Elfsight branding and monthly view limits on free-tier widgets. Paid plans remove those limits and branding.
