Overview
Social Share Buttons from Elfsight lets visitors share pages, products or posts from your Squarespace site through social networks and messaging services. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform, not native Squarespace code. In Elfsight's editor, you can choose from more than 40 predefined networks, arrange buttons by drag and drop, and select an Inline or Floating layout. You can also adjust columns and spacing, choose whether buttons show an icon, text or both, and edit button text, colours, style and animation. Add the embed code to a Squarespace Code Block to show the buttons on your page.
Who it suits
This suits site owners who want visitors to share their pages, products or posts, and who want to choose which networks appear and how the buttons look. The Inline layout sits in content areas, while Floating buttons stay with visitors as they scroll. A free plan is available to start with.
One honest caveat
The widget offers two layouts, Inline and Floating, so it may not match a need for a different layout. Its networks come from Elfsight's predefined list. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits; paid plans remove those. The widget is hosted by Elfsight, so it stops showing if your Elfsight account lapses.
Installation
Build and customise the buttons in Elfsight's online editor, then copy the generated embed code. In Squarespace, add a Code Block where you want the widget to appear and paste in the code. Later changes made in the Elfsight editor update automatically on the site.
