Overview

Twitter Feed from Elfsight displays posts from a public X (formerly Twitter) profile, hashtag or selected Tweets on a Squarespace page. Visitors can view text, images and GIFs in the feed, and use its Follow button; clicking a video takes them to Twitter to watch it. This is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform, not native Squarespace code. In Elfsight's online editor, you can choose a layout, connect a profile or content source, customise the header and feed elements, set the height and choose a colour for active elements. You can also select individual Tweets to include or exclude. After you add the embed code to Squarespace, later editor changes update automatically.

Who it suits

This widget suits businesses that want to show an active public profile, collect relevant hashtag posts or feature selected customer Tweets on a Squarespace page. It can also give visitors a way to follow the profile from the feed. A free plan is available to start with.

One honest caveat

The feed is limited to public accounts and public content, and Elfsight says updates usually arrive roughly every 48 hours. Visitors who click a video are redirected to Twitter to watch it. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits; paid plans remove those limits and branding. The widget stops showing if the Elfsight account lapses.

Installation

Build the feed in Elfsight's online editor by choosing a layout, connecting a profile or content source, and adjusting its settings. Copy the embed code and paste it into a Squarespace Code Block where you want the feed to appear. Later edits in the editor update automatically.

Use the widget to place a public Twitter or X profile feed, hashtag results or a selection of Tweets on a Squarespace page. The vendor describes options for showing a profile timeline, filtering by hashtag or keyword, and manually adding links to specific Tweets. You can also exclude individual Tweets. Public content is required, so private or locked accounts cannot be displayed.

The editor includes layout and appearance controls. Choose a layout, adjust the header, switch Tweet elements on or off, set the widget's height and width, and choose a colour for active elements. The vendor describes two header types, one compact and one richer. Height can be adaptive to the content. A Testimonials layout presents Tweets with the author's name, text and a star rating.

Visitors can use the Follow button in the header. The vendor says the feed also lets visitors reply to and retweet posts without leaving the website. Images and GIFs can be viewed inside the widget, while clicking a video redirects visitors to Twitter. The feed usually refreshes roughly every 48 hours, according to the vendor.

This is an Elfsight-hosted embed, not native Squarespace code. Build and configure it in Elfsight's online editor, then paste its embed code into a Squarespace Code Block. The vendor says the widget is compatible with Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1, including Fluid Engine. Changes made later in the editor update automatically on the page. A free plan is available, with Elfsight branding and monthly view limits on free-tier widgets.
