Squarespace's default product image lightbox is basic: a larger image on a dark background and not much else. Product Lightbox for Squarespace, from the Vietnamese plugin studio BeyondSpace, replaces it on store and product pages with a lightbox built for shopping. Customers can pinch to zoom on a phone and zoom into fine detail on desktop, move between images with thumbnails, watch product videos inside the same gallery, read captions taken from your image alt text and use a buy button without closing the overlay. BeyondSpace sell it as a feature of their wider Lightbox Studio plugin. What it includesPinch-to-zoom and swipe on mobile, mouse or trackpad zoom on desktop, thumbnail navigation, product video inside the lightbox gallery, optional captions from image alt values, custom buttons or links in captions, smooth transitions that can be switched off, loading indicators for large zoom images, and lazy loading so the extra images do not slow the page. It works on both Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1 templates once the lightbox option is enabled on your Product or Store page, and Squarespace's own hover image zoom can stay active alongside it.Who it suitsShops where detail sells the product: jewellery, textiles and fashion, furniture and homeware, art prints and anything handmade where a customer wants to inspect the finish before buying. It also suits stores that already shoot product video and want it shown with the stills rather than buried lower on the page.Trade-offsZoom is only as good as your photography; small or heavily compressed images pixelate when enlarged, so upload large, sharp originals. The product lightbox is one feature of Lightbox Studio, so read the vendor page to be clear on what the purchase covers. And custom code needs a Squarespace Business plan or higher, plus Squarespace Commerce for product pages to exist at all.How it installsAdd BeyondSpace's code to your site following their instructions, then switch on the lightbox for your product pages. On 7.1 that means editing the product section, setting the layout to Simple to reveal the Click Action option and choosing Lightbox; on 7.0 Brine templates you enable Image Zoom and the lightbox in Site Styles. The plugin then replaces the default lightbox automatically.Related guide: Best Squarespace gallery and lightbox plugins in 2026 and Best Squarespace plugins in 2026.
Image Wall Widget enhances your Squarespace site by providing precise control over grid layouts, spacing, and reusable patterns. This plugin from Common Ninja allows designers to effectively manage columns and breakpoints within sections, maintaining an editor-friendly experience without straying from Squarespace’s native framework. Ideal for customizing layouts without complexity.
Squarespace lets you give an event a Source URL, the address of an external booking or ticketing page, but only the event's own page honours it. Calendar blocks, Event Lists and Summary Blocks keep linking to the internal event page, so visitors land on a Squarespace page and then have to click again to reach Eventbrite or your booking system. Event Source URL Helper from BeyondSpace fixes that: once installed, it swaps the internal links in Calendar blocks, Event Lists and Summary Blocks (titles, thumbnails and buttons) for the Source URL you set on each event. It can also detect a booking link written in the event body if you tell it your booking domain, and it supports blog post Source URLs when the "link post title to Source URL" option is on. BeyondSpace state it works on both Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1.Who it suitsVenues, theatres, gyms, community organisations and anyone selling tickets through an external platform while using Squarespace's Events page to publish the programme. It saves one click for every visitor and a lot of manual link editing for you.One honest caveatIt relies on you filling in the Source URL on every event, and it changes where links go rather than what they look like. Visitors will leave your site to book, which is the point, but you lose the event page as a landing spot. It is a plugin installed by code injection, so a Business plan or higher is needed.InstallationBeyondSpace supply the plugin code and offer a free trial through their Ground Control tool, which lets you preview it in your site's editor before buying and adjust settings without code. Set the Source URL on each event in its settings and the plugin does the rest.Related guide: see our roundup of the best Squarespace plugins in 2026 for how this compares with the alternatives.
What Squarespace Event and Calendar Filter isSquarespace Event and Calendar Filter is a plugin from SQS Mods that replaces the plain chronological list on a Squarespace 7.1 Events page with a filterable, card based calendar. It is installed as code generated by their configurator, with no CSS to write. This page is written from the SQS Mods product page and their live demo. What it doesVisitors can narrow events by date range, location, category and tag, toggle between upcoming and past events, and see results as a one column timeline or a two or three column grid of cards that collapses sensibly on tablet and mobile. With native styles enabled the plugin reads your primary button colour, text colour and border radius from Squarespace Site Styles, or you set them manually, and there are separate controls for card and UI radius, an image overlay to keep titles legible over photography, and a swap option that moves the date into a pill on the hero image. Nine visibility toggles let you hide any element you do not need (the upcoming and past switch, event count, reset button, each filter and the badges), you can set a custom order for categories and tags, and the date picker supports day first or month first formats for UK and US audiences.Who it suitsVenues, studios and gyms with weekly classes, churches and community organisations, festivals with a full programme, and any Squarespace 7.1 site whose events run across several locations or types. If visitors regularly ask what is on near them next month, this answers it on the page. One honest caveatThe filter is only as useful as your event data. It needs categories, tags and locations filled in consistently on every event, and a calendar with two events does not need filtering at all. It works on Squarespace 7.1 Events pages only, not on blog or summary blocks, and because it is custom code it needs a plan with code injection. Test it against your busiest month before relying on it.SetupSQS Mods supply a configurator that builds the code from your chosen layout and filter options. You paste the result into the Events page header code injection following their guide, which requires a Business (now Core) plan or higher. It is a one-off purchase and removing the code returns the Events page to Squarespace's default list with your events untouched.Related guideI compare this with the other calendar and scheduling tools in my roundup of the best Squarespace booking and calendar plugins in 2026, and it has a place in the wider best Squarespace plugins in 2026 list. Every add-on I track is in the Squarespace plugins collection.
Split Footer from SQS Mods divides a Squarespace footer into two distinct parts, so one side can carry a dedicated call to action (a booking button, a newsletter signup, a contact prompt) while the other keeps the usual links and details. It is delivered as code you add to your site, and it is a footer layout tool, not the interface-component plugin an earlier version of this page described. You can place the call-to-action panel on the left or right, add or remove rounded corners, and have it either stick out from the footer or sit level with it. SQS Mods state it works on Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1.Who it suitsService businesses that want a persistent "book a call" or "get a quote" prompt at the bottom of every page, and designers who want a footer that looks considered rather than default. It suits sites where the footer is the last chance to convert a reader who has scrolled the whole page. One honest caveatThe plugin works by pushing down the second-to-last section on a page, which means SQS Mods cannot automatically apply the split footer to every page for you. You can use it on all pages, each with its own call to action, or on just one, but either way it is set up page by page. Custom code needs a Business plan or higher, and SQS Mods do not offer refunds on digital products.InstallationAdd the code following SQS Mods' instructions and build the call-to-action content in the section the plugin targets. SQS Mods allow use on multiple sites you build yourself, provided the code is not shared.SQS Mods build their plugins from problems that came up on real client sites, a story we cover in why every SQSMODS plugin starts with a real client problem.Related guide: see our roundup of the best Squarespace plugins in 2026 for how this compares with the alternatives.
List Tweaks from SQS Mods is a small styling plugin for Squarespace 7.1's List sections (Simple List, Carousel and Banner Slideshow). Out of the box those sections give you square corners, no shadows and thin carousel arrows, and the built-in settings do not let you change that. This plugin adds the missing controls: set your own corner radius for images and cards, add a shadow behind cards and images, make the carousel arrows thicker, and, as a bonus, give the list buttons different colours. It is CSS-based, inexpensive, and does exactly one job. An earlier version of this page described it as an interface-component plugin, which it is not.Who it suitsAnyone using 7.1 List sections for services, team members, testimonials or featured products who wants them to look softer and more polished. It is a good match for brands with rounded, friendly visual identities where sharp-cornered cards look out of place. One honest caveatThis is a cosmetic tweak that depends on the current structure of Squarespace's List sections. When Squarespace changes that markup, styling like this can need updating, so check SQS Mods' notes if something stops looking right after a platform update. It is 7.1 only, and although Custom CSS is available on every plan, confirm with the vendor whether any part needs code injection.InstallationAdd the supplied code to your Squarespace 7.1 site following SQS Mods' instructions, then set the radius, shadow and arrow values to taste.SQS Mods build their plugins from problems that came up on real client sites, a story we cover in why every SQSMODS plugin starts with a real client problem.Related guide: see our roundup of the best Squarespace plugins in 2026 for how this compares with the alternatives.

Squarespace's announcement bar is a plain strip of text across the top of the site. Sale Tag Squarespace Announcement Bar from The Square Genius is a small visual plugin that adds an animated sale tag icon to that bar, so a flash sale, launch, restock or limited offer catches the eye instead of blending into the header. It is delivered as custom JavaScript and CSS for Squarespace 7.1, with a Canva template included so you can design your own tag icons for seasons, services or events. The icon is responsive and sits properly on desktop, tablet and mobile.Who it suitsShops running promotions, course creators announcing enrolment windows, and any site owner who already uses the announcement bar and wants the message to work a little harder. It is a modest, single-purpose tweak, which is exactly why it is easy to live with. One honest caveatThis adds an icon to the announcement bar. It does not add scheduling, multiple rotating messages, countdowns or targeting; those still come from Squarespace's own announcement bar settings, which are basic. It needs Code Injection, so a Business plan or higher, and the vendor states it is compatible with Squarespace 7.1 only.InstallationPaste the JavaScript into Code Injection and the CSS into Custom CSS following the included step-by-step guide, then switch on the announcement bar in your Squarespace settings if it is not already showing. Swapping the icon later means replacing the image you designed in Canva.Related guide: see our roundup of the best Squarespace plugins in 2026 for how this compares with the alternatives.

The Split Screen Layout Design Pack gives you a set of ready-made split screen designs for Squarespace 7.1, so you can build side by side sections with sticky behaviour and scrolling content inside one half of the section. Fluid Engine covers plain side by side blocks these days, so the value here is in the extra designs and the sticky and scroll effects Squarespace still cannot do natively.Installation is copy and paste code with a video walkthrough, and the plugin is automatically maintained by the developer. This is the single-site license. See how it compares with other layout tools in our guide to the best Squarespace plugins in 2026.
Squarespace 7.1 lets you add a second footer section that most sites never use. Squarespace Slide-out from SQS Mods turns that spare section into a panel that slides in over the page when a visitor clicks a trigger: a contact form, your latest blog posts, an Instagram feed, an FAQ accordion, or anything else you can build in a Squarespace section. Because it is a real section, the native settings for colours, fonts and background still apply, and any linkable element (a button, image block, text link, header button or navigation link) can be the trigger. Options cover panel width for desktop and mobile, slide speed, which edge it enters from, the close label and colour, background blur and opacity, and whether the page behind stays scrollable. It is a code plugin for Squarespace 7.1 only, not the interface-component plugin an earlier version of this page described.Who it suitsService businesses that want a contact form reachable from every page, shops with a quick view of new posts or products, and designers who like off-canvas panels but do not want to hand-code one.One honest caveatThe plugin uses your secondary footer section, so that section is no longer available for anything else, and there is one slide-out per site. Navigation folders cannot be used as triggers. It is 7.1 only, needs a Business plan or higher, and SQS Mods do not offer refunds on digital products.InstallationAdd the code following SQS Mods' instructions, build the panel content in the secondary footer section and assign the trigger to your chosen link. SQS Mods say it takes about five minutes.SQS Mods build their plugins from problems that came up on real client sites, a story we cover in why every SQSMODS plugin starts with a real client problem.Related guide: see our roundup of the best Squarespace plugins in 2026 for how this compares with the alternatives.
Video Lightbox from BeyondSpace opens videos in an overlay on top of a Squarespace page instead of sending the visitor away or embedding a bulky player inline. It supports YouTube, Vimeo, Squarespace-hosted video (delivered as HLS) and custom video files uploaded through the link manager. It works by turning ordinary links, buttons and gallery clickthrough links into lightbox triggers using what BeyondSpace call video lightboxify URLs, so you do not need to touch a code block for each video once the plugin is installed.
What it does
Any link or gallery slide can become a video trigger, and Squarespace 7.1 gallery sections are supported out of the box, along with gallery blocks, auto layouts and product pages. Playback options such as autoplay and start time are controlled through parameters on the video URL. Zoomable images can sit alongside videos in the same lightbox gallery, so a portfolio can mix stills and film. On product pages it can replace static product images, or turn links and buttons in the additional info area into a video popup. The player reads the aspect ratio of your thumbnail and sizes itself to match, and videos can also play inline within a gallery rather than in the overlay, which is a tidy replacement for animated GIFs.
Who it suits
Videographers, wedding and event filmmakers, agencies with showreels, musicians and any business that wants a "watch the film" button on a page without the page becoming a wall of embedded players. It is also a neat way to make a gallery of thumbnails open videos rather than images, and shops that have product videos will get good use out of the product page options.
Considerations
This is a feature module of BeyondSpace's larger Lightbox Studio plugin rather than a separate codebase, so read the vendor page to understand what you are buying and whether the full Lightbox Studio would serve you better. The lightbox loads the video from YouTube, Vimeo or your host at click time, so slow or heavy videos still buffer; it does not make them lighter. Custom code needs a Squarespace Business plan or higher, and as with any injected code, a Squarespace update could require a plugin update from BeyondSpace.
Installation
The plugin is supplied as code you add to your site following BeyondSpace's instructions. You then point the links or gallery items you want to open in the lightbox at the video lightboxify URLs they describe. Setup is quick for a single button and takes a little longer if you are converting a whole gallery.
