What Advanced Support Form (Common Ninja) isAdvanced Support Form is Common Ninja's help-request form widget, a hosted form you build in Common Ninja's editor and embed on a Squarespace page. The old copy here described buttons, tabs and accordions, a different product. What it doesThe vendor page lists name and email, an issue category dropdown such as billing, technical or account, priority, order or account ID, a description field and custom questions per team. Customers can attach screenshots, photos, log files or receipts so agents see the problem before replying. Notification emails alert the team, honeypot fields and optional CAPTCHA keep the queue clean, and the ticket list exports to CSV for triage.Who it suitsSmall software products, online shops and service businesses on Squarespace that want structured support requests with attachments but are not ready for a help desk platform. One honest caveatSquarespace's Form Block can collect a support message for free, but not an attachment, which is the gap this fills. It is an intake form, not a help desk: no ticket numbering, status, threaded replies or knowledge base, so once a request lands you answer it by email. Tickets live in Common Ninja's dashboard on a third party script, and larger uploads sit in the paid tiers.Setup and pricingBuild the form in Common Ninja's editor and paste the embed code into a Squarespace code block (Core, formerly Business, plan or higher). Common Ninja is recurring software: the free plan covers one support form with no time limit, and paid tiers add forms, submission volume, premium skins and the advanced features noted above.Related guideRead my roundup of the best Squarespace plugins in 2026 or browse the plugins collection.
Most of the businesses I build for have a healthy stack of Google reviews that nobody visiting their website ever sees. Common Ninja's Google Reviews widget is a hosted SaaS widget that pulls the real reviews from your Google Business Profile and displays them on any Squarespace page. You connect the profile once, choose which reviews appear, and paste a single line of embed code into a Code block. New reviews you approve in the Common Ninja dashboard push to the embed without touching the site again. What it includesFour layouts (slider, grid, list and a compact badge showing your overall rating and review count), a library of pre-built skins, manual approval per review, a minimum star rating filter, include or exclude keyword filters, sorting by newest, oldest, highest or lowest, and a custom CSS field for matching typography and spacing to your brand. It is responsive from a 320px phone screen up to a full-width desktop section. Common Ninja are clear that it only displays reviews your profile has already earned; it does not generate or buy them.Who it suitsLocal and service businesses with a live Google Business Profile: trades, clinics, salons, restaurants, studios and consultants. If your reviews live on Facebook, Yelp or Trustpilot instead, look at the same vendor's All in One Reviews widget.Trade-offsThis is a hosted widget with a free tier and paid plans, so the free plan covers one widget with a monthly view limit and Common Ninja branding, and the reviews load from their servers rather than from Squarespace. It also adds a third-party script to every page it sits on, which is worth weighing on a site that already runs several embeds. Reviews are only as fresh as the last sync and your own approval queue. How it installsCreate the widget in the Common Ninja editor, connect your Google Business Profile, approve the reviews, then add a Code block to your Squarespace page and paste the embed snippet. Code blocks are available on every current Squarespace plan, so no Business plan upgrade is needed for this one.Related guide: Elfsight for Squarespace: which widgets are worth it and Best Squarespace plugins in 2026.

Looped is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 templates, built on Fluid Engine and styled as the website of a curly hair salon. The demo describes itself as "a salon specializing in hair that spirals, swirls, waves, whirls, loops, and curls", and that playful line sets the tone. The nav is deliberately small: Home, Appointments and Shop, plus a cart. The home page runs through the salon's four services (curly cuts and trims, hydration consultations, original hair care products, event and editorial styling), a founder quote and a Come Visit section with the address. Appointments carries a scheduling block, and Shop is a small Squarespace store with four hair care products and filters.
Who it suits
Hair salons and independent stylists first, then barbers, nail and brow studios, and any appointment-based business that also sells a few products. It is not a wedding template, whatever the old listing on this page said: there are no event details, no couple galleries and no RSVP form.
One honest caveat
Three pages is a short list. There is no About page, no stylist profiles, no price list and no gallery in the demo, so you will add those yourself from blank sections. The Appointments page depends on Squarespace Scheduling, which is a separate subscription, and selling the products needs a plan that supports commerce. There is no custom code and every image is a placeholder.
Setting it up
Choose Looped in Squarespace's template picker when you start a new site, or open the demo and start from it. Swap the photographs, rewrite the services, connect Scheduling and add your products, then edit the rest with the drag and drop Fluid Engine editor. It sits in my free Squarespace templates collection, and you can compare it with paid designs in the Squarespace templates for small businesses collection.
Little Legends is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 templates, built on Fluid Engine and styled as the website of a children's multi-sport summer camp. The demo, Little Legends League, pairs a sunny yellow palette with bold headlines like "All Sports. All Summer." The pages in the demo nav are Home, About Us, a Camp Overview folder holding Rookie Camp, All Pro Camp and Varsity Camp, then Coaches and Contact Us. The home page introduces the camp, summarises the three programmes and what each includes, carries three parent testimonials and ends with an FAQ accordion about a typical day, what to bring and bad weather plans.
Who it suits
Summer camps and holiday clubs first, then sports academies, after-school programmes and youth clubs: anyone selling a few programmes to parents who need their questions answered before they book. The three-tier structure maps neatly onto age groups or skill levels. It is not a baby products shop, whatever the old listing on this page said: there is no product catalogue in the demo.
One honest caveat
There is no registration or payment flow. The demo has a contact form, not a booking system, so taking deposits or sign-ups online means adding Squarespace commerce or linking out to a camp registration service. The programme pages are thin, there is no custom code and every image is a placeholder, so you will need good photographs of real sessions.
Setting it up
Choose Little Legends in Squarespace's template picker when you start a new site, or open the demo and start from it. Rewrite the three programme pages first, then the FAQ and testimonials, swap the photographs and edit the sections with the drag and drop Fluid Engine editor. It sits in my free Squarespace templates collection, alongside the full Squarespace templates list if you want to compare it with paid designs.
Lexington is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 templates, built on Fluid Engine and styled as the online shop of a small barbecue sauce brand. The demo shouts "BBQ IS LIFE" over orange, yellow and black, and the pages in the nav are Home, Shop, Videos, About and Contact, with a cart in the header. The home page runs through the brand story, a Top Flavors section that pulls three sauces from the store with size options and add to cart buttons, a row of recipe videos and a founder section. Shop is a Squarespace store page, Videos is a video collection and Contact carries a form.
Who it suits
Small food and drink producers first: sauces, spice rubs, coffee, anything sold in a handful of sizes with a personality behind it. The video page suits a maker who teaches as well as sells. It is not a restaurant template, whatever the old listing on this page said: there is no menu, no reservations and no opening hours in the demo.
One honest caveat
Lexington is a product shop skeleton, not a finished store. The demo has three products, placeholder copy on every page and no custom code, and the bold look relies on confident product photography; a quieter brand will want to tone the type and colour down in Site Styles. Selling needs a plan that supports commerce, and shipping, tax and payments are yours to configure.
Setting it up
Choose Lexington in Squarespace's template picker when you start a new site, or open the demo and start from it. Add your products first so the home page has something to pull in, then rewrite the story and founder sections, swap the videos and edit the rest in Fluid Engine. It sits in my free Squarespace templates collection, and you can compare it with paid designs in the Squarespace templates for small businesses collection.

What Agaro isAgaro is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 Fluid Engine templates, built as the site of a small strategy and design agency called Agaro Collective. It is a four page services site: Home, Services, About and Contact, with big serif headlines, italic accent words and a scrolling marquee strip that repeats a line like "We help you realise your potential". The old listing on this page described a consultant template with testimonials and a portfolio page; the demo has neither. It is an agency services site with no case studies and no client quotes. What it doesThe homepage stacks a text hero, an introduction with a link to the about page, a three column "what we do" section, the scrolling marquee, a mission statement, a four column services grid (general design, digital advertising, data and analytics, SEO) with sub services listed under each, a second marquee and a contact call to action, then a footer with the agency blurb and navigation. The Services page expands each of those categories with a paragraph. About is a team story page with a stat, and Contact is a simple page with email, phone and address. Everything is native Fluid Engine, so the marquee is a Squarespace scrolling section rather than custom code and can be edited or removed in place.Who it suitsMarketing, branding and design agencies, consultancies and small studios that sell services rather than products and want a confident, typographic homepage that reads well without a lot of photography. It is a good free starting point when the client has strong copy and little imagery. One honest caveatThere is no work or case study page, no testimonials section and no blog in the demo, which is a lot to be missing for an agency site; most clients will want at least one of those before launch. The marquee sections also date quickly and can distract on mobile, so I would keep one at most. As with every Squarespace template there is no third party support or setup guide beyond the Squarespace help centre.SetupAgaro is free and included with every Squarespace plan. Start a trial from the Squarespace templates page, choose Agaro and the demo content is loaded for you to replace. No licence and no install. Adding a portfolio, blog or scheduling page is done from the standard page library, and Commerce or custom code need a Core plan or higher.Related guideBrowse the templates for agencies sub-collection or the full Squarespace templates collection, and see my roundup of the best Squarespace templates for consultants in 2026 for paid alternatives with case studies built in.
What Adri isAdri is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 Fluid Engine templates, styled as the personal site of a freelance web designer. It is small and warm: a homepage that introduces the person, a projects page with three case studies, and a Book Consultation page built on Squarespace Scheduling. The old listing on this page described Adri as a template for technology companies with documentation hubs and support sites; that is wrong. It is a personal services and portfolio template for a solo creative. What it doesThe homepage runs through a hero introduction, a two column approach section, a row of three stats, a featured project, a case study carousel, client testimonials, a call to action into the booking page and an FAQ, then a newsletter sign up in the footer. The projects page lists each case study as its own page with a summary and a View Project link, so you can add or remove projects without touching a portfolio collection. The Book Consultation page is a plain page with a call to action that is meant to hold a Scheduling block, which is why the template suits people who sell their time. Everything is native Fluid Engine, so sections can be rearranged, colours and fonts changed in Site Styles, and pages added from the standard library.Who it suitsFreelance web and graphic designers, brand consultants, coaches and other solo professionals who want a friendly, first person site with a handful of case studies and a way to book a call. It is also a sensible free starting point for a new business that plans to grow the site over time. One honest caveatIt is thin. Three pages and three case studies is the whole demo, the case studies are simple pages rather than a filterable portfolio, and there is no about, services or blog page out of the box, so anyone with a larger body of work or a service menu will be building pages themselves. As with every Squarespace template it comes with no third party support or training beyond Squarespace's own help centre.SetupAdri is free and included with every Squarespace plan: start a trial from the Squarespace templates page, pick Adri and the demo content is loaded for you to replace. There is no licence to buy and no install. Booking needs Squarespace Scheduling (Acuity), which is a separate subscription, and the newsletter block needs a storage connection such as Squarespace Email Campaigns or Mailchimp.Related guideBrowse my Squarespace templates collection and the templates for designers sub-collection, or read how to choose the right Squarespace template if you are deciding between a free Squarespace template and a paid designer one.
Novo is a free Squarespace 7.1 template built as a stripped-back portfolio for a designer or art director, and it is about as minimal as a working site gets. The demo belongs to a fictional designer, and the nav holds just two items: Work, which is the homepage, and Contact. Work is a full-width Squarespace portfolio grid of six projects with hover titles, and each project opens onto its own page with a heading, a short description, an image gallery and a link through to the next project. Contact lists four areas of expertise (art direction, branding, packaging and web design), a brief biography and a contact form. There is no About page, no blog and no shop. I keep it in our Squarespace templates for artists collection because it gets out of the way of the work better than most paid portfolio templates.Who it suitsGraphic designers, art directors, illustrators, photographers and small studios with six to twelve strong case studies and no need for a long sales pitch. If your work speaks for itself and you want a client to land straight on it, this is the right shape. One honest caveatTwo pages is a very thin starting point. All the demo copy is placeholder text, there is no custom code, and the grid lives or dies on the quality and consistency of your project thumbnails. Anyone who needs services pages, testimonials or an about story will be building those from blank sections.Setting it upChoose Novo in Squarespace's template picker or start from the demo, replace the six portfolio items with your own projects, write a real biography on the Contact page and connect the form to your inbox. The portfolio grid is a native Squarespace collection and the pages use Fluid Engine, so adding an About page or a services section later is drag and drop.
What Night isNight is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 templates, built on Fluid Engine and styled as a portfolio site for a fashion stylist who works on television, film and editorial shoots. The demo is dark, near-black with light serif and monospace type, and the sample copy is written for a "goth styling" practice. The old listing on this page described Night as a lookbook and product template for fashion and beauty brands; it is not. There is no shop and no lookbook section in the demo, it is a four page portfolio for a creative professional. What it doesThe home page opens with a full height hero, a short statement of what the stylist does, a single testimonial quote and a booking call to action. The Portfolio page is a Squarespace portfolio collection with seven placeholder projects, each of which opens as its own page so you can build a case study per shoot. The About page uses accordion blocks to lay out a story, a process and an experience section, then three short columns for film, editorial and commercial work. Contact is a simple page with a form and social links. Because it is a Fluid Engine template you can drag any block anywhere on the grid, and the whole colour and type system lives in Site Styles, so switching from dark to light is a palette change rather than a rebuild.Who it suitsStylists, makeup artists, hair artists, costume designers and other creative freelancers who need to show a body of work and take bookings. It also works for photographers and small studios that want a moody, editorial feel. If you sell products, look elsewhere: the structure here is portfolio first. One honest caveatNight is a starting point, not a finished site. In my experience the free Squarespace templates give you a mood and a page skeleton, and you still do the real work: replacing every placeholder image, writing copy and deciding whether the dark palette suits your brand. The demo also has no blog and no scheduling, so if you take bookings you will need to add Acuity or a third party tool yourself.SetupNight is free and included with every Squarespace plan, including Personal. You choose it when you start a new site, or preview the demo and click to start from it. There is no licence to buy and no code to install. Squarespace 7.1 does not let you switch templates on an existing site, so if you have an existing 7.1 site you would start a fresh trial with Night and move your content across.Related guideI keep a full list of Squarespace templates on SquareLocator, including the templates for fashion brands collection where Night sits alongside paid alternatives. What Nevins isNevins is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 Fluid Engine templates, built as a landscape and nature photographer's portfolio. The homepage is a Portfolio page rather than a normal page: a grid of nine project covers (Peaks, Coast, Wildlife, Seafaring, Horizon, Landscape, Crystals, Wharf and Dock in the demo) with a hover overlay, each opening into its own project page. The old listing on this page gave a Home, About, Portfolio and Contact page list; that was wrong. The real demo is Work, Blog and Contact, with the Work portfolio serving as the homepage. What it doesThe portfolio grid is the native Squarespace Portfolio collection in its basic grid layout with hover titles, so adding a project is a matter of creating a new portfolio item and uploading images. Each project page is a Fluid Engine page you can lay out with galleries, text and video. The Blog is a basic grid blog with four sample posts, and Contact is a single page ready for a form block and details. Navigation is minimal, the site title carries the photographer's name and the design uses a lot of white space so the images do the work. Fonts, colours and spacing are all controlled in Site Styles.Who it suitsPhotographers, especially landscape, travel and wildlife photographers, and visual artists who want a quiet grid of projects with no selling, no services page and no bio in the way. It is also a reasonable base for a design or illustration portfolio if you replace the imagery. One honest caveatThere is no About page, no client galleries, no print shop and no pricing page in the demo, and the homepage being a Portfolio collection means you cannot add hero text or a call to action above the grid without restructuring. Squarespace also provide no client proofing or password protected galleries in this template beyond what any Squarespace site can do with page passwords, so wedding and portrait photographers who deliver galleries to clients will want a separate tool.SetupNevins is free and included with every Squarespace plan. Start a trial from the Squarespace templates page, choose Nevins and the demo projects and posts are loaded for you to replace. There is no licence and no install. If you want to sell prints later you will need a Core plan or higher for Commerce, and any custom code also needs Core or higher.Related guideI compare the free and paid options in my roundup of the best Squarespace templates for photographers in 2026. Browse the templates for photographers sub-collection or the full Squarespace templates collection.
Meriden is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 templates, built on Fluid Engine and styled as the website of a life coach. The demo site is called Meriden Life Coaching: a warm orange and neutral palette, big serif headlines and a confident first-person tone. The pages in the demo nav are Home, Courses, Work with Me, Podcast and About, plus a Free Consultation button in the header. The home page sets out the coaching method in three steps (Focus, Reflect, Refine), promotes an upcoming virtual course and ends with a newsletter sign-up. The header also carries a customer login and a cart, so Courses is set up to sell rather than just list.
Who it suits
Life coaches first, then relationship, career and mindset coaches, and anyone who sells a mix of one-to-one sessions, courses and a podcast. If your business runs on a free discovery call and an email list, the demo already has that funnel in place. I would not pick it for a fitness studio, whatever older listings said.
One honest caveat
Meriden is a starting layout, not a finished site. Every image and line of copy is a placeholder, there is no custom code, and the Courses and Podcast pages only do their job once you have set up Squarespace Courses and connected a podcast feed. Selling courses also depends on the plan you are on, so check that before you build around that page.
Setting it up
Choose Meriden in Squarespace's template picker when you start a new site, or open the demo and start from it. Then swap the demo text and photographs, delete the sections you do not need and edit the rest with the drag and drop Fluid Engine editor; colours and type live in Site Styles. It sits in my free Squarespace templates collection, and you can compare it with paid designs in the Squarespace templates for coaches collection.
