Google Maps Widget from Common Ninja puts an interactive Google map with multiple pins on a Squarespace page. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Common Ninja's platform rather than native Squarespace code. In their editor you add locations by address, by business name (matched through Google Places) or by exact coordinates, and give each pin a title, description, photo and category. Visitors click a pin to see an info window with the address, opening hours, phone, website and a Directions button that opens Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze on their phone. You can pick a map skin, turn on a searchable location list and adjust the look with custom CSS. Common Ninja handles the Google Maps connection, so there is no API key to set up on your side.Who it suitsSmall businesses with two or more locations, venues and event organisers, and anyone who finds the native Squarespace Map Block too limited: it shows a single pin in Google's default styling with no per-location details. The free plan covers one map with no time limit. One honest caveatThe free plan caps the number of pins per map, and category filters, CSV import and premium skins are paid features. It loads from Common Ninja's servers; if a paid subscription lapses the widget drops back to the free plan and premium features switch off. For a single location, the native Map Block is free and needs no third-party script.InstallationBuild the map in Common Ninja's editor, copy the embed snippet and paste it into a Squarespace code block on your contact or locations page. Edits made in the editor update every embed automatically.Related guide: see how it compares with the Elfsight and SquareWebsites options in our best store locator plugins for Squarespace roundup.

A social proof widget shows small pop-up notices in the corner of a page ("Sarah in Leeds just booked a consultation", "12 people donated this week") to reassure a visitor that other people are already buying, booking or joining. This one from The Square Genius is a JavaScript and CSS snippet for Squarespace 7.1, not a hosted service, so there is no monthly fee and no third party script loading on your site. You write the notices yourself, then set the text, colours, icon, timing and screen position to match your brand. It animates in and out on a schedule and works on phones as well as desktops.Who it suitsSmall online shops, charities showing recent donations, service businesses that take bookings, membership sites and event organisers. We think it earns its place on a checkout, donation or booking page where a visitor is deciding whether to commit. One honest caveatThe notifications are not pulled from your order data. They are messages you type in, so they only stay honest if you keep them truthful and current. A widget announcing purchases that did not happen is the kind of thing customers notice and remember. It also needs code injection, which means a Business plan or higher, and the vendor states it is compatible with Squarespace 7.1 only.InstallationCopy the supplied JavaScript into Code Injection and the CSS into Custom CSS, following the step-by-step guide included with the purchase. Editing the notices afterwards means editing the snippet, which is straightforward but worth knowing before you hand the site to a client.Related guide: see our roundup of the best Squarespace plugins in 2026 for how this compares with the alternatives.
The Event List Widget enhances your Squarespace site with dynamic animations and scroll effects that engage visitors. It focuses on intentional interactions like scroll-triggered reveals and hover behaviors, ensuring that animations are not just eye-catching but also performance-conscious. Perfect for teams looking to add polished motion without compromising site structure.
The WordPress Feed Widget enhances your Squarespace pages by integrating buttons, tabs, and accordions, ensuring a cohesive look with your site’s theme. This tool simplifies the addition of micro-UI elements, reducing the need for complicated workarounds. Perfect for site owners aiming for user-friendly interfaces without compromising on design consistency.
The Image Hotspot Widget enhances your Squarespace site by adding interactive buttons, tabs, and accordions that improve user engagement. With a focus on maintaining your theme's stylistic consistency, it integrates seamlessly into your existing Squarespace 7.1 setup, allowing for easy implementation of these micro-UI components without disrupting your site’s native structure.
Age Verification from Elfsight puts an age gate in front of a Squarespace site or selected pages. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform rather than native Squarespace code. In Elfsight's editor you set the minimum age, pick one of three checks (Yes and No buttons, full date of birth or year of birth), write the message and decide what happens to visitors who fail: block them, show a custom message or redirect them elsewhere. The gate can cover the whole page as an overlay with your logo, an image and a background that hides the content, and it can remember a visitor for a set number of days so they are not asked on every visit. Squarespace has nothing native for this.Key features
Yes and No, date of birth or year of birth checks
Any minimum age threshold
Block, message or redirect scenarios for underage visitors
Remember visitors for a set number of days
Whole-site or selected-page coverage
Full overlay with logo, image and custom colours
Free plan with Elfsight branding and view limits
Who it suitsBreweries, distilleries, wine merchants, vape and tobacco sellers, and sites with adult-only content who need a visible age check and want to control its wording, look and behaviour without code.Honest limitsThis is a self-declaration gate, not identity verification. Anyone can click Yes or type an older birth year, and it runs in the browser, so it does not stop determined visitors or count as proof of age for regulated sales. Treat it as a reasonable-steps measure and check your own legal position. Because it is JavaScript from Elfsight's servers, content is still in the page source, free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits, and the gate goes if your account lapses.Installation on SquarespaceConfigure the gate in Elfsight's editor, copy the embed code and paste it into Squarespace footer code injection for site-wide cover, or into page header injection for individual pages. Later edits in the editor update automatically.Related guide: see my review of which Elfsight widgets are worth it on Squarespace.

The Free Social Vote Widget enhances your Squarespace site by adding essential UI components like buttons, tabs, and accordions. Perfect for site owners looking to create intentional interactions, this tool ensures consistency with your theme in Squarespace 7.1, all while working within the native editor structure for seamless integration.
Interactive Maps from Common Ninja is a colour-coded regional map, not a street map. It draws a country or the world as clickable regions (states, counties, provinces) and lets you colour each one by category, add a tooltip with an image and text, link a region to another page and show a legend. Common Ninja lists several hundred country and world maps to choose from. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Common Ninja's platform rather than native Squarespace code: you set it up in their editor, choose a design skin, adjust colours and fonts or add custom CSS, then paste one embed snippet into a Squarespace page.Who it suitsAnyone who needs to show where something applies rather than where something is: a service company listing the counties it covers, a distributor with regional territories, a charity showing project areas, a school with catchment zones, or a blogger presenting data by state. The free plan lets you build and publish one map with no time limit. One honest caveatIf what you actually want is pins on a Google map with addresses and directions, this is the wrong widget; Common Ninja's Google Maps Widget does that. This one is for shading regions. The free plan is limited to one widget with fewer features, and the map loads from Common Ninja's servers, so a lapsed paid plan drops it back to the free tier and switches premium features off.InstallationBuild the map in Common Ninja's editor, copy the embed snippet and paste it into a Squarespace code block. Edits made in the editor update on your site automatically.Related guide: for pin-based maps and locators, see how the alternatives compare in our best store locator plugins for Squarespace roundup.
The Tumblr Feed Widget by Common Ninja enhances UI components within your Squarespace site, focusing on buttons, tabs, and accordions. It streamlines the design process by allowing you to manage these elements directly in the Squarespace 7.1 editor, minimizing the need for complex workarounds while ensuring consistent styling across your site.
The Calendar Widget simplifies adding interactive elements like buttons, tabs, and accordions to your Squarespace 7.1 site. With a focus on consistent styling that matches your theme, it enhances user engagement without straying from Squarespace’s native structure. Ideal for site owners looking to streamline interface components efficiently.
Kitui offers musicians and bands a robust Squarespace 7.1 template focused on essential features like a dedicated music player, integrated tour dates, and merchandise sections. What it covers
Custom Layouts in Squarespace is Chris Schwartz-Edmisten's course on building designs in Fluid Engine that do not look like a Squarespace template. Chris has designed on Squarespace full time since 2018, is a Squarespace Circle Leader and runs a YouTube channel of more than 6,000 subscribers about custom CSS, and this course is the material he does not give away there.
There are five video modules. Gathering Inspiration covers where to find sources for genuinely custom designs. Fluid Engine Tips and Tricks is the techniques Chris uses to build faster and avoid the spacing and mobile surprises that put people off Fluid Engine. How to Create Split Layouts covers full bleed split designs with images, video, slideshows and grid style page layouts. The Complete Guide to Boxed Content walks through the three ways of boxing content and the trade-offs of each. The Full Homepage Build is a 50 minute lesson where Chris builds a complete homepage from a custom mockup, start to finish. A bonus module gives a 20 per cent discount code for his plugins, workshops and Pro membership.
Every layout comes with copy and paste CSS, and access is lifetime, including future video and CSS updates.
Who it is for
Squarespace designers who lose clients, or lose margin, when someone shows up with a complex mockup and asks whether it can be done on Squarespace. It is beginner friendly on the CSS side because the code is supplied, and several reviewers with years of Squarespace experience say they still picked up new techniques.
Format and access
Self-paced video hosted on Chris's own site, with the CSS included in each lesson and email support from Chris if something does not make sense. Squarespace 7.1 only; it does not cover 7.0. No refunds.
Where it falls short
The lessons are about building techniques, not design taste, so the inspiration module is only a starting point if you are not already confident with layout. Because the CSS is supplied rather than explained line by line, you will get more out of it if you already understand the basics; pair it with the free CSS material Chris publishes. And the methods are tied to how Fluid Engine behaves today, which Squarespace changes from time to time, so the promised updates matter.

What Secure HIPAA Compliance Forms Creator (Common Ninja) isSecure HIPAA Compliance Forms Creator is Common Ninja's patient intake form widget, a hosted form you build in Common Ninja's editor and embed on a Squarespace page. The old copy here described buttons, tabs and accordions, a different product. What it doesThe vendor page lists patient details, date of birth, medical history, medications, consent acknowledgements, insurance information, reason for visit and custom questions. Submissions are encrypted in transit and at rest with role-based access and audit logs, and Common Ninja mentions a HIPAA-compliant API plus Google Sheets and EMR connections. Secure payment collection takes a co-pay in the same flow and real-time notifications alert staff.Who it suitsClinics, therapists and counsellors, dentists and telehealth providers on Squarespace who need intake that keeps protected health information out of plain email and native form storage. One honest caveatRead the vendor's wording carefully: the widget provides features that support a compliant workflow, but on its own it does not make your practice compliant. That depends on your policies, staff training and a signed Business Associate Agreement, so confirm the BAA and which tier includes the HIPAA features before relying on the free plan. Squarespace itself is not a HIPAA-covered host, which is why intake must not go through the native Form Block.Setup and pricingBuild the form in Common Ninja's editor and paste the embed code into a Squarespace code block (Core, formerly Business, plan or higher). Common Ninja is recurring software: the free plan covers one HIPAA form with no time limit, and paid tiers add forms, submission volume, premium skins and the advanced features noted above.Related guideRead my roundup of the best Squarespace plugins in 2026 or browse the plugins collection.
The Pricing Slider Widget enhances your Squarespace 7.1 site by providing a customizable carousel and slider solution. It features touch-friendly swiping, timed autoplay, and mixed media slides, enabling marketers to effectively showcase products, stories, or portfolios without leaving the Squarespace environment. This widget offers greater control and interactivity for your audience.
Event Calendar from Elfsight shows your upcoming events on a Squarespace page in a grid, list, slider or masonry layout, with a popup for each event carrying the date and time, venue and map, host, an add-to-calendar link and sharing buttons. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform rather than native Squarespace code. You add events by hand in Elfsight's editor or connect a Google Calendar and let it fill the widget. Squarespace has its own Events collection page, which does the basics well, so this is for people who want filters, more layouts, Google Calendar sync, or events shown on an ordinary page rather than a collection page.Key features
Four layouts: grid, list, slider and masonry
Google Calendar sync, or events added by hand
Filters by date, event type, venue, host and tags
Event popup with map, add-to-calendar (ICS), copy link and email share
Images and YouTube or Vimeo video on each event
Optional button per event for tickets or registration, linking anywhere
Event times shown in a fixed zone or in each visitor's local time zone
Who it suitsChurches, clubs, venues, schools and businesses running workshops or classes who want a filterable programme on a normal page, especially where the events already live in a Google Calendar and nobody wants to enter them twice.Honest limitsSquarespace's native Events page already gives you a calendar view, a list view and an individual page for every event with its own URL and structured data. This widget replaces that with a script and popups, so events do not get their own pages on your domain. Google Calendar sync replaces manually added events rather than merging with them, so pick one source. Tickets and registration are a link to another page, not a built-in checkout. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits, and because the calendar loads from Elfsight's servers it disappears if your subscription lapses.Installation on SquarespaceBuild the calendar in Elfsight's editor, connect Google Calendar if you use it, copy the embed code and paste it into a Squarespace code block on the page where you want the events. New events added in the editor or in Google Calendar appear on the page without further edits.Related guide: see my review of which Elfsight widgets are worth it on Squarespace.
All-in-One Reviews from Elfsight gathers reviews from several platforms into one widget on a Squarespace page. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform rather than native Squarespace code. Elfsight lists dozens of supported sources including Google, Facebook, Yelp, Amazon, Airbnb, Booking.com, Tripadvisor, Etsy, directories such as BBB and Capterra, and the app stores, plus a Custom Source for typing in reviews from anywhere else. Each review shows the reviewer's name, photo, rating, text and source logo, under a header with your combined star rating, total count, per-platform tabs and a Write a review button. Squarespace has no native reviews block, so this is one of the simplest routes to real social proof.Key features
Google, Facebook, Yelp, Amazon, Airbnb, Booking.com, Tripadvisor, Etsy and many more
Several locations or accounts in one feed
Custom Source for reviews from unsupported platforms
Filters by rating, keyword and author, and hide star-only reviews
Six layouts, three card styles, light and dark schemes
Aggregate rating schema markup for rich results
Free plan with Elfsight branding and view limits
Who it suitsBusinesses whose reputation is spread across more than one platform: a restaurant with Google and Tripadvisor reviews, a holiday let on Airbnb and Booking.com, a shop on Etsy and Google. If all your reviews are on Google alone, Elfsight's single-source Google Reviews widget is simpler.Honest limitsThe filters let you show only positive reviews. Be careful with that: cherry-picking can breach consumer protection rules in the UK and elsewhere, and visitors can see the full picture on the source platform anyway. New reviews take up to about 72 hours to sync. The automatic review translation feature needs a Pro plan or higher. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits, and the reviews disappear if your account lapses.Installation on SquarespaceConnect your review sources in Elfsight's editor, choose a layout, copy the embed code and paste it into a Squarespace code block where the reviews should appear. Later edits in the editor update automatically.Related guide: see my review of which Elfsight widgets are worth it on Squarespace.
Cookie Consent from Elfsight adds a cookie banner to a Squarespace site. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform rather than native Squarespace code. In Elfsight's editor you choose between a notification-only banner and a consent request with Accept and Decline buttons, write the message, add a link to your privacy or cookie policy, and pick a Bar layout (top or bottom) or a Box layout (left, right or centre). Colours, font size and an optional cookie icon match it to your site, and Elfsight supplies GDPR-styled templates. A visitor's choice is stored in their browser, so the banner does not reappear on every visit.Who it suitsSite owners who want more control over the wording, position and look of the banner than Squarespace's built-in cookie tools allow, or who need the same banner design across several platforms. A free plan is available to start with. One honest caveatSquarespace already has a free cookie banner under Settings, Cookies and Visitor Data, and it ties into Squarespace's own analytics cookies. Elfsight's page describes a notice with consent buttons; it does not describe blocking third-party scripts until consent is given, so if you need genuine prior-consent blocking for a regulated audience, confirm that with Elfsight and your legal adviser before relying on it. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and view limits, and the banner disappears if your account lapses.InstallationBuild the banner in Elfsight's editor, copy the embed code and paste it into Squarespace footer code injection so it appears on every page. Later edits in the editor update automatically.
The App Store Reviews Widget enhances product visibility and checkout experiences for Squarespace Commerce users. It streamlines variant and filter flows while minimizing cart and catalog friction. By leveraging store-specific layout controls, this plugin offers a quicker path to improved merchandising and user experience without the need for custom coding.
If you run events on a Squarespace site (a conference, a retreat, a workshop series), presenting the schedule usually means a long wall of text. Common Ninja's free Agenda widget replaces that with a proper structured schedule: each item shows its time, location and speaker at a glance, visitors can switch between collapsed and expanded views, and full details open in a popup rather than pushing people to another page. Each agenda item can also link out, for example to a registration or ticket page. You build it in Common Ninja's editor and paste one line of embed code into a Squarespace code block; later edits sync to your site automatically. Free plan available, with paid tiers for higher traffic.
Vandam stands out with its intuitive layout geared towards musicians and bands. The design prioritizes a dedicated music player and tour date sections, ensuring they are central rather than an afterthought. With clear typography and adaptable merchandise options, this Squarespace 7.1 template is built for those who want a professional music site without complicated setups.
Mason is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 templates, built on Fluid Engine and styled as a coming soon page for a fashion label. The demo site is called Ilana Mason and it is a single page: a full-bleed photograph behind a black section, the words Coming Soon, one line inviting visitors to sign up to hear when the Spring Collection lands, a newsletter form and social icons. A cart icon in the header suggests the site is meant to grow into a shop after launch. There is no About, no Lookbook and no product grid, whatever the old listing on this page said.
Who it suits
Anyone who needs a launch page before the real site exists: a clothing or beauty brand collecting email addresses ahead of a first drop, a designer announcing a collection, or any business that wants a domain live with a sign-up form while the full build happens. With a different photograph it works for almost any brand.
One honest caveat
You are getting one page, and that is all. If you choose Mason expecting a fashion store, you will be building the Shop, About and Contact pages from blank Fluid Engine sections yourself. The look depends on one strong photograph, and the newsletter block needs a storage destination (Squarespace Campaigns, Mailchimp or a spreadsheet) before it collects anything.
Setting it up
Choose Mason in Squarespace's template picker when you start a new site, or open the demo and start from it. Replace the background image, rewrite the two lines of copy, connect the newsletter storage and swap the social links. That is about an hour of work. It is listed in my free Squarespace templates collection; if you want a full store layout from day one, compare the paid designs in the Squarespace templates for fashion brands collection instead.
