What it isThe PayPal Donate Button is a free, hosted widget from Common Ninja that puts a donation button on a Squarespace page. You connect a PayPal or Stripe account, set the amount and a thank-you message, and paste one line of embed code into a code block. Clicking the button opens a checkout hosted by the payment provider, so card details never touch your site and the money settles directly in your own account. The old listing on this page talked about tabs and accordions. It is not that. It is a donate button and nothing else. What it doesEach donation appears in your Common Ninja dashboard as a list you can export to CSV, email alerts and webhooks fire when one arrives, and a custom confirmation greets the donor after payment. There are ready-made styles, colour, font and spacing controls and custom CSS. Because the widget is hosted, edits appear on your site without touching the embed code again.Who it suitsSmall charities, clubs, community groups, creators and open source projects taking a one-off contribution on the page where they make the case, without a fundraising platform's setup or cut.Honest caveatsSingle donations only; recurring giving needs Common Ninja's separate Subscription Button or a membership tool. The free plan has usage limits and paid plans are an annual subscription per widget. Squarespace's own Donation Block does much of this natively on a Core plan or higher, so compare before adding a third-party script. Fees are PayPal's or Stripe's.SetupCreate a free account, build the button, add a code block to your Squarespace page and paste the snippet. What it isWycoff is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 templates, and it is the smallest kind of site: a party invitation. The demo is a graduation celebration with a single home page carrying the invitation, the date, time and venue, a hashtag and an RSVP button, plus an RSVP page with the details and a form. That is the whole site. The old listing on this page described a conference and workshop site with registrations. It is not that. Wycoff is a two-page invitation for one event. What you get
Pages: Home and RSVP
Sections: invitation hero, event details, call to action, RSVP form
Bold display type and a playful palette you change in the style editor
Who it suitsGraduations, birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, baby showers and small weddings that want a proper page with an RSVP form rather than a social media event, or a quick landing page for a launch party or open studio.Honest caveatsThe RSVP is a standard Squarespace form, so responses land in your email or a connected spreadsheet; there is no guest list, seating or ticketing. Selling tickets means adding a commerce page and a plan that supports it. Paying for a plan for a two-page site can feel expensive, so use the trial and shortest term. Free templates mean many similar sites, so change the type and colours. How it is deliveredFree means the design costs nothing; you pay for a Squarespace plan when you publish. Start a trial from the template's page on squarespace.com and the demo content is installed for you to replace. Fluid Engine handles the layout, so sections are drag and drop.Related guide: more free Squarespace templates or the full templates hub.
Sliding Image Banner by Will Myers turns ordinary Squarespace 7.1 page sections into a full-width slider, and the word that matters is sections. Each slide is a complete section with its own blocks, text, buttons and background, including background video, so you edit every slide natively in the Squarespace editor and the plugin handles the sliding. Squarespace 7.1 dropped the background image slider that 7.0 templates had, and years on there is still no native replacement. This is the most complete third-party answer I have used.
What it does
Autoplay, pagination dots or numbered bullets, navigation arrows and touch to swipe on mobile are all included, with a choice of fade or coverflow transitions. You can show multiple or partial slides per view for a peek-at-the-next-slide effect, keep a static first slide sitting over the top of sliding images, or place a static image underneath sliding content. Colour theme matching picks up your site's palette automatically. If a slide uses a native background video, the plugin pauses it while that slide is inactive, which keeps the page from downloading several videos at once.
Who it suits
Designers who want a hero slideshow with real content on each slide rather than bare images, agencies rebuilding 7.0 sites on 7.1 that relied on the old banner slider, and businesses with several offers or announcements that deserve the top of the page in turn. If you only need to slide images, a gallery section will do; this plugin earns its place when each slide carries text and buttons.
Considerations
Slides cannot be combined with Squarespace's section dividers, so slider sections need straight edges. Custom code requires a Business plan or higher, and Will Myers do not guarantee compatibility with other plugins or third-party code. Support is on a best-effort basis for the first 60 days after purchase and covers universal technical issues rather than individual customisation. The single licence covers one website; a multi-use licence covers unlimited sites and templates built for resale, and it is priced separately on the vendor page.
Setup
Installation is copy and paste code with a video walkthrough, and the plugin is maintained by the developer so updates arrive without you reinstalling. A demo site is linked from the vendor page with the password "demo". Expect an hour or so to install and style the first slider, then a few minutes per additional slide.

Video Element adds a clean, comprehensive video component to your Squarespace site with features the native video block lacks: autoplay as the video scrolls into view, tap to pause, an unmute button, and custom colours to match your branding. It is built for those short, silent-by-default marketing clips that play inline as visitors browse.Worth knowing up front: Squarespace limits self-hosted files to 20MB, which is roughly one minute of 1080p footage, so this element suits short promo clips rather than long videos. Installation is copy and paste code with a video walkthrough, and the plugin is automatically maintained by the developer. See where it sits among the best Squarespace plugins in 2026.

Minimosas is a Squarespace 7.1 template by Square Design, sold through the SquareKicker template store, built for child-centred businesses: nurseries, daycares, preschools and after-school clubs. The demo is a nursery in London: a haven-of-joy hero, an about-us section, three values (collaboration, evolution, creativity), parent testimonials and a register-today prompt, with an Information page covering ages, opening hours, a daily schedule, activities and upcoming events, an About Us page with the story, team and values, an FAQ page with accordions, a Register page with an enrolment form, a privacy policy and a 404. The old listing described product catalogues for children's boutiques and family blogs; the demo is a nursery site with no shop and no blog. What you get
Seven page layouts: Home, Information, About Us, FAQ, Register, Privacy Policy and a 404, on Squarespace 7.1 with Fluid Engine
An Information page laid out for age groups, opening hours, a daily schedule, an activities grid and upcoming events
A Register page with a long enrolment form, an FAQ page built from accordions and a team section on About Us
Twenty-two featured sections (gallery, people, values, faq, services, testimonial, information, policy) to reuse on any page
SquareKicker animations: primary and link cursors, footer reveal, sticky section, horizontal scrolling, sticky split and scroll effects, editable while the extension is active
A white, pink, blue and pale blue palette with illustrated touches that changes in the Squarespace style editor
A one-off purchase with a free 30-day SquareKicker extension trial
Who it suitsNurseries, daycares, preschools, childminders, holiday clubs and children's activity providers that need to explain what a day looks like and take enrolment enquiries. With new imagery it also works for a tutoring centre or a children's dance or music school.Honest limitsThe Register page is a Squarespace form, not an enrolment system: it emails you the details and there is no payment, waiting list or parent login. Upcoming events are typed in, not a calendar. There is no blog and no shop, so a boutique or a family blogger should look elsewhere. The playful cursor and horizontal scrolling effects are SquareKicker features that stay in place after the 30-day trial but need a subscription to keep editing, and the horizontal scroll is worth testing on mobile before you commit. How it is deliveredSquareKicker templates install through the SquareKicker Template Engine onto a new or existing Squarespace 7.1 site: connect the free SquareKicker extension, pick the template and it installs in a few clicks, with the choice of keeping your existing site styles or replacing them with the template's. There is no duplicate site to copy from. The purchase is one-off and includes a 30-day SquareKicker extension trial; you need a Squarespace Core plan or higher to publish, and SquareKicker template buyers get 10 per cent off a Squarespace plan.Related guide: compare it with the other school and teaching sites in our Squarespace templates for educators collection, or browse the Squarespace templates hub.

What Animated Rotating Text isAnimated Rotating Text is a small Squarespace plugin by Chris at Schwartz-Edmisten Web Design that swaps a word or phrase inside a heading through a list you define, so one headline can address several audiences or services in turn. It is a copy and paste code plugin with two animation styles and a video install guide. The old listing on this page described the right plugin, but in vague marketing terms; this rewrite sets out exactly what you get. What it doesYou mark the words you want to cycle inside a text block and the plugin rotates them with either a fade or a slide in from the top. It works on any Squarespace 7.0 or 7.1 template, on every major browser and on mobile, which makes it one of the few rotating text plugins still safe to use on an older 7.0 site. Installation comes with an instruction video, and the purchase includes lifetime updates and technical support for the original code. Every Schwartz-Edmisten plugin carries a multi use licence, so you can install it on as many of your own or your clients' sites as you like.Who it suitsAgencies, freelancers and multi service businesses that want a hero headline to speak to several audiences, and designers who maintain a mix of 7.0 and 7.1 client sites and want one plugin that behaves the same on both. The multi use licence makes it good value for anyone who builds more than one site a year. One honest caveatTwo animation styles is the whole menu, so if you want a typewriter effect, a vertical flip or fine control over timing you will need a different plugin or your own code. Rotating text is also easy to overuse and can irritate some readers, so keep it to one instance per page. The licence lets you use it on unlimited sites but not inside templates you sell, and there are no refunds, so confirm you are on Core or higher before buying.SetupYou need a Squarespace Core plan or higher, because the plugin uses custom code and will not run on Basic. Install is copy and paste following the video, then mark the words to rotate in your heading. The multi use licence covers unlimited websites you build, with the code not to be shared or bundled into templates for sale.Related guideCompare it with the other motion plugins in the Squarespace animation plugins sub-collection, browse the full plugins collection, or read my roundup of the best Squarespace plugins in 2026.
Some images are simply too tall for a web page: a full-length website mockup, a long infographic, a restaurant menu scanned as one image, a comic strip. Drop one into a Squarespace image block and it either dominates the page or gets shrunk until nothing is legible. Squarespace Scrolling Images Plugin Pro from The Square Genius puts a tall image inside a container of fixed height that the visitor scrolls within, so the image stays large and the page stays tidy. It is a CSS plugin used together with a Code Block, with adjustable container heights, custom scrollbar styling and padding options. The Square Genius state it is compatible with Squarespace 7.1, and their FAQ also mentions 7.0.Who it suitsWeb designers showing full-page mockups in a portfolio, photographers with panoramic or long-format work, illustrators, and businesses presenting infographics or long documents as images. If you have ever wished a visitor could scroll a screenshot instead of squinting at it, this is the fix.One honest caveatIt handles vertical scrolling only; there is no horizontal mode in this version. A scrolling box inside a scrolling page can also feel odd on touchscreens, where the visitor may not realise the image moves independently, so keep the container height sensible and test on a phone before publishing.InstallationPaste the supplied CSS into Custom CSS and add the image using a Code Block following the included instructions. Custom CSS is available on all Squarespace plans, but check your plan supports Code Blocks before buying.Related guide: see our roundup of the best Squarespace plugins in 2026 for how this compares with the alternatives.
Luna Reed is crafted for wellness practitioners and fitness businesses, featuring a layout that prioritizes class schedules and membership information. Pink Coach is a Squarespace 7.1 template by Ina of Pink Fig Creative, sold through the SquareKicker template store, built for solo coaches, consultants and freelancers who want a one-page site. The demo is a life and business coach for women entrepreneurs: a transform-your-life-and-business hero, a hello introduction, three ways to work with me (mindset, goal-getter coaching, work-life balance), a meet-your-coach section, testimonials, a quote, a let's-connect contact form and a free-tips lead magnet, with a Contact page, an Instagram link-in-bio page and a Terms and Conditions page. The old listing had the audience right but framed it for marketing and advertising professionals, which is not the demo; it is a coaching one-pager with a bio-link page. What you get
A one-page home layout plus Contact, an Instagram link-in-bio page and Terms and Conditions, on Squarespace 7.1 with Fluid Engine
Sections for three services, an about-the-coach block, testimonials, a lead-magnet sign-up and a contact form
An Instagram gallery block in the footer that connects to your account
A hot pink, lilac, blush and off-white palette that changes in the Squarespace style editor
SquareKicker styling and animation settings, editable while the extension is active
A one-off purchase with a free 30-day SquareKicker extension trial
Who it suitsLife, mindset and business coaches, consultants, copywriters and freelancers at the start of their business who want one page, a bio link and a lead magnet. The pink is the brand, so it suits anyone happy with that or willing to recolour in the style editor.Honest limitsOne page means no services pages, no blog and no about page; the demo copy tells you to add a page per service when you are ready. Booking a session goes through the contact form unless you embed Acuity or Calendly. The lead-magnet form needs an email storage destination. The vendor's detail page for this template currently returns a server error, so the page-layout and animation counts above are taken from the store index and the live demo rather than the product page. Any animations are SquareKicker features that stay in place after the 30-day trial but need a subscription to keep editing. The purchase is one-off and includes a 30-day SquareKicker extension trial; you need a Squarespace Core plan or higher to publish, and SquareKicker template buyers get 10 per cent off a Squarespace plan.Related guide: compare it with the other coaching designs in our Squarespace templates for coaches collection, or browse the Squarespace templates hub.
Meriden is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 templates, built on Fluid Engine and styled as the website of a life coach. The demo site is called Meriden Life Coaching: a warm orange and neutral palette, big serif headlines and a confident first-person tone. The pages in the demo nav are Home, Courses, Work with Me, Podcast and About, plus a Free Consultation button in the header. The home page sets out the coaching method in three steps (Focus, Reflect, Refine), promotes an upcoming virtual course and ends with a newsletter sign-up. The header also carries a customer login and a cart, so Courses is set up to sell rather than just list.
Who it suits
Life coaches first, then relationship, career and mindset coaches, and anyone who sells a mix of one-to-one sessions, courses and a podcast. If your business runs on a free discovery call and an email list, the demo already has that funnel in place. I would not pick it for a fitness studio, whatever older listings said.
One honest caveat
Meriden is a starting layout, not a finished site. Every image and line of copy is a placeholder, there is no custom code, and the Courses and Podcast pages only do their job once you have set up Squarespace Courses and connected a podcast feed. Selling courses also depends on the plan you are on, so check that before you build around that page.
Setting it up
Choose Meriden in Squarespace's template picker when you start a new site, or open the demo and start from it. Then swap the demo text and photographs, delete the sections you do not need and edit the rest with the drag and drop Fluid Engine editor; colours and type live in Site Styles. It sits in my free Squarespace templates collection, and you can compare it with paid designs in the Squarespace templates for coaches collection.
WhatsApp Chat from Elfsight puts a chat bubble on a Squarespace site that opens a WhatsApp conversation with your number when a visitor clicks it. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform rather than native Squarespace code. It is not a chat box that lives on your page: the visitor's message goes to WhatsApp on their phone or computer and you reply from the WhatsApp app you already use. In Elfsight's editor you add your number (personal or WhatsApp Business), choose an icon, caption, expected reply time and welcome message, pick one of three positions, and set triggers such as time on page, scroll depth or exit intent that open the chat window automatically. Squarespace has no chat feature of its own, so this is the lightest way to add messaging to a site.Key features
Works with personal and WhatsApp Business accounts by phone number or short link
Chat bubble with custom icon, caption, expected reply time and welcome message
Open triggers: page load, time on page, time on site, scroll depth and exit intent
Three positions, with the option to choose which visitors see the chat
Your number is used for routing and is not shown unless you write it into the text
Colour and style controls to match the site
Free plan with Elfsight branding and view limits
Who it suitsSmall shops, restaurants, clinics, tradespeople, tutors and anyone who already answers customers on WhatsApp and wants website visitors funnelled into the same conversation rather than a contact form.Honest limitsIt is a bridge to WhatsApp, not an inbox on your site, so there is no chat history on the website and a visitor without WhatsApp installed gets sent to install it or to WhatsApp Web. It works with standard and WhatsApp Business accounts but not the WhatsApp Business API, so there is no multi-agent routing, automation or CRM integration; one number per widget. Message limits and behaviour follow WhatsApp's own rules. If you want a chat window that stays on the page with several agents, Elfsight's Live Chat is the widget to look at instead. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits, and because the bubble loads from Elfsight's servers it disappears if your subscription lapses.Installation on SquarespaceCreate the widget in Elfsight's editor, enter your WhatsApp number with the country code, set the appearance and triggers, copy the embed code and paste it into Settings, Advanced, Code Injection in the footer so the bubble appears on every page. A code block on a single page limits it to that page. Changes made later in the editor apply automatically.Related guide: see my review of which Elfsight widgets are worth it on Squarespace.
Event Calendar from Elfsight shows your upcoming events on a Squarespace page in a grid, list, slider or masonry layout, with a popup for each event carrying the date and time, venue and map, host, an add-to-calendar link and sharing buttons. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform rather than native Squarespace code. You add events by hand in Elfsight's editor or connect a Google Calendar and let it fill the widget. Squarespace has its own Events collection page, which does the basics well, so this is for people who want filters, more layouts, Google Calendar sync, or events shown on an ordinary page rather than a collection page.Key features
Four layouts: grid, list, slider and masonry
Google Calendar sync, or events added by hand
Filters by date, event type, venue, host and tags
Event popup with map, add-to-calendar (ICS), copy link and email share
Images and YouTube or Vimeo video on each event
Optional button per event for tickets or registration, linking anywhere
Event times shown in a fixed zone or in each visitor's local time zone
Who it suitsChurches, clubs, venues, schools and businesses running workshops or classes who want a filterable programme on a normal page, especially where the events already live in a Google Calendar and nobody wants to enter them twice.Honest limitsSquarespace's native Events page already gives you a calendar view, a list view and an individual page for every event with its own URL and structured data. This widget replaces that with a script and popups, so events do not get their own pages on your domain. Google Calendar sync replaces manually added events rather than merging with them, so pick one source. Tickets and registration are a link to another page, not a built-in checkout. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits, and because the calendar loads from Elfsight's servers it disappears if your subscription lapses.Installation on SquarespaceBuild the calendar in Elfsight's editor, connect Google Calendar if you use it, copy the embed code and paste it into a Squarespace code block on the page where you want the events. New events added in the editor or in Google Calendar appear on the page without further edits.Related guide: see my review of which Elfsight widgets are worth it on Squarespace.
Google's guidelines ask for one specific thing from affiliate sites: qualify your affiliate links with rel attributes like sponsored, so search engines know which links are commercial. Doing that by hand on every link, and remembering on every new post, is exactly the kind of chore that gets skipped, and skipping it risks your SEO. Will Myers' Affiliate Link Genie automates it, adding the right rel attributes to your Squarespace links so your affiliate content stays compliant without per-link effort. At $15 for a single site (or $40 multi-use covering unlimited websites and templates for sale) it is the cheapest plugin in Will's range, and for any site earning affiliate income it is closer to insurance than decoration. As a marketplace running hundreds of affiliate links ourselves, this is a category we take personally.

Squarespace's Map Block shows a single pin on a default Google map. Squarespace Interactive Maps, sold by Squarewebsites as the Advanced Interactive Map Block (Unlimited Sites edition), extends that same block so it can show many locations at once, each with its own marker, details and styling that matches your site rather than Google's standard colours. Locations can be entered directly or pulled from a Gallery, Blog or Events collection, so adding a new branch later means adding a collection item rather than editing code. It works on all templates on Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1, and this licence covers any number of sites.Who it suitsMulti-location businesses, estate agents, tour operators, festival and event organisers, and especially designers who build client sites and need a map plugin they can reuse without buying a licence each time. It also pairs with Squarewebsites' Universal Filter so visitors can filter locations by tag or search by address. One honest caveatIt only works on the Map Block, and the Map Block uses Google Maps under the hood, so an address that Google cannot find will not appear on your map either. The plugin needs code injection, which means a Business plan or higher (a workaround exists for Personal plans but could stop working). The installation code is emailed after purchase rather than downloaded instantly. If you only run one site, the single-site edition does the same job.InstallationPaste the emailed installation code into footer code injection once. Your Map Block settings then gain the extra options for multiple locations, markers and styling.Related guides: see our roundup of the best Squarespace plugins in 2026 for how this compares with the alternatives, and our guide to free Squarespace plugins if you want to try the free map widgets covered there first. Simple List Testimonial Style is a code snippet from Will's Toolkit, the membership library run by Squarespace developer Will Myers, rather than a standalone plugin; an active Toolkit subscription is required to open it. It takes a native Squarespace list section in its simple (grid) layout and restyles each item as a clean testimonial card: the quote at the top, a thin divider line, then the person's name on the left and a small circular photo on the right, with a light shadow around the card. In the Toolkit preview it sits under a plain "A few kind words" heading in a three-column grid. What it includesOne CSS snippet with copy buttons, tagged in the catalogue under Testimonials and List Section, last updated in April 2025 according to the listing. Because it styles Squarespace's own list items, testimonials are added and edited in the normal list section panel, with the description field for the quote, the title for the name and the image for the photo. The Toolkit membership itself also includes the full Code Catalog, the browser extension, the Robo-Will AI assistant, a Slack community and a discount on Will's standalone plugins.Who it suitsDesigners who want a tidy, repeatable testimonial grid for service and consultancy sites without building it from scratch each time, and site owners who are comfortable pasting CSS and prefer a calm, card-based look to a rotating carousel.Trade-offsIt is deliberately simple: no stars, no source icons, no slider controls. If you want those, a hosted reviews widget is a better fit. You are buying a membership rather than a single snippet, so the value depends on using more of the library. Custom CSS needs a Squarespace Business plan or higher, and styling that targets Squarespace's list section markup can need a small adjustment when Squarespace changes it.How it installsAdd a list section, choose the simple layout, add your testimonials as list items, then copy the snippet from the Toolkit into Design, Custom CSS. Follow the notes to scope it to the section you want and to set the card background, shadow and divider colour.Related guide: How to use custom CSS in Squarespace and Best Squarespace plugins in 2026.
