- Requires the Carousel Summary Block and conflicts with other plugins targeting it
- Replaces Squarespace's native carousel style on the page
- Custom CSS and code injection need a Business plan or higher
- Each testimonial needs a title, excerpt and thumbnail
Overview
Boldly Testimonial Slider is one of Ghost Plugins' Super Plugins: a CSS and code injection plugin that turns Squarespace's Carousel Summary Block into a designed testimonial slider with a quote icon, the quote itself, the person's name and a tag line, bullet pagination and arrow controls. Because the content comes from a summary block, your testimonials live in a blog or portfolio collection you already know how to edit, and the plugin only changes how they are presented.
What it includes
A step-by-step install guide, a multi-site licence covering personal and client work, free future updates and support. Ghost list the customisable options: autoplay on or off with an adjustable duration, background colour, main border radius, a subtle shadow colour, and separate size and colour settings for the quote, the name title, the tag meta, the arrows and their background, the quote icon and the bullet icons. It works on Squarespace 7.0 Brine family templates and on 7.1, and is available either as a single purchase or through Ghost's Pro Access membership.
Who it suits
Designers and site owners who want a bold, branded testimonial slider that stays editable through a normal Squarespace collection, and anyone already managing testimonials as blog or portfolio items who wants them presented properly on a home or services page.
Trade-offs
Ghost are upfront about the main one: it requires the Carousel Summary Block and cannot be used alongside other plugins that also target that block, and Squarespace's native carousel styling is replaced on the page. Custom CSS and code injection need a Core plan or higher (Business or Commerce on older plans). And since testimonials are collection items, each one needs a title, an excerpt and a thumbnail before it looks right in the slider.
How it installs
Add a summary block set to the carousel layout and point it at the collection holding your testimonials. Paste Ghost's CSS into Design, Custom CSS and the script into code injection as the guide shows, then adjust the colour and size variables at the top of the CSS to match your brand.
