Overview

What Contact Form Widget (Common Ninja) is

Contact Form Widget is Common Ninja's quick drop-in enquiry form: a hosted, no-code form built in their editor and embedded on a Squarespace page with one line of code. The old copy here described buttons, tabs and accordions, a different product. It is the simple sibling of their Form Builder.

What it does

The vendor page lists name, email, phone, multi-line message, dropdown, checkbox, radio, file upload and payment fields, with required flags, placeholder text and section grouping. A built-in spam filter screens URLs in names and known bad domains, with optional honeypot, rate limiting and CAPTCHA. Submissions land in the Common Ninja dashboard with attachments, go out by email and export to CSV.

Who it suits

Squarespace sites that want a file upload on the contact page, a small payment such as a consultation fee inside the form, or a shared dashboard of enquiries with CSV export.

One honest caveat

Squarespace's own Form Block already does a plain contact form on every plan, stores submissions in your site and emails you, so most sites do not need this. Choose it for uploads, payments or the dashboard, and accept a third party script and enquiries living outside Squarespace. Payments and HIPAA mode are paid-tier features.

Setup and pricing

Build the form in Common Ninja's editor and paste the embed code into a Squarespace code block (Core, formerly Business, plan or higher). Common Ninja is recurring software: the free plan covers one contact form with no time limit, and paid tiers add forms, submission volume, premium skins and the advanced features noted above.

FAQs

FAQs

What does the Common Ninja Contact Form Widget do?
It adds a hosted enquiry form with name, email, phone, message, dropdown, checkbox, file upload and payment fields to a Squarespace page, with submissions stored in the Common Ninja dashboard.
How is it different from the Squarespace Form Block?
The native block is free, stores submissions in Squarespace and covers a plain contact form well. The widget adds file uploads, an in-form payment field, a shared dashboard and CSV export.
How is it different from Common Ninja's Form Builder?
The Contact Form is the quick version for simple enquiries. Form Builder adds conditional logic, signature and rating fields, section grouping and longer multi-step forms.
How does it handle spam?
A built-in filter screens common spam patterns, with optional honeypot and rate limit toggles and a CAPTCHA you can turn on.
How do I add it to Squarespace?
Build the form in Common Ninja's editor, copy the one-line embed snippet and paste it into a code block on the page. Code blocks need a Core (formerly Business) plan or higher. Later edits in the editor update the live embed automatically.
Is it free?
Common Ninja's free plan covers one contact form with no time limit and no credit card. Paid tiers add more forms, higher monthly submission limits, premium skins and advanced features such as payment collection and HIPAA mode. Check the current tier table on the vendor site before relying on a specific feature.
