What Count Up Animation is
Count Up Animation is a small Squarespace plugin by Will Myers that turns a number in an ordinary text block into a counter that animates from zero up to its value when it scrolls into view. It is a code snippet you install once, then trigger by adding a link to the number you want animated. The old listing on this page described the right plugin, but it was written as generic marketing copy; this is what it actually does.
What it does
You write your stat in a normal text block, including scaled text blocks, and the plugin does the rest with no code. The animation waits until the number is in view rather than running on page load, so visitors see the count happen. You can keep a suffix such as a plus sign or a percentage after the number, apply your own colours, and it works on mobile. It supports large formatted numbers (the demo counts to over one million) and runs on any Squarespace 7.1 site. Installation is documented on a How It Works page with a walkthrough.
Who it suits
Sites with a stats section: agencies showing projects delivered, charities showing people helped, gyms showing members, SaaS pages showing users. It is a one afternoon addition that makes a plain row of numbers feel deliberate, and designers can reuse it across client sites on the multi use licence.
One honest caveat
It is a single effect. There is no odometer style rolling digit, no decimal counting option listed and no control over easing beyond what ships, so if you want a highly bespoke counter you will still be writing your own JavaScript. Also note the vendor product page currently shows the feature list of a different plugin (an announcement bar); the demo page is the accurate description, and I have written this review from that.
Setup
You need a Squarespace Core (formerly Business) plan or higher because the plugin relies on code injection; it does not run on Basic or Personal plans. Install is copy and paste, then you mark each number to animate by targeting it with a link. The single licence covers one website; the multi use licence covers unlimited websites and templates for sale. Support is best effort for the first 60 days.
