Overview

This one from The Square Genius is a JavaScript and CSS snippet for Squarespace 7.1, not a hosted service, so there is no monthly fee and no third party script loading on your site. You write the notices yourself, then set the text, colours, icon, timing and screen position to match your brand. It animates in and out on a schedule and works on phones as well as desktops.
Who it suits

One honest caveat
The notifications are not pulled from your order data. They are messages you type in, so they only stay honest if you keep them truthful and current. A widget announcing purchases that did not happen is the kind of thing customers notice and remember. It also needs code injection, which means a Core plan or higher (Business or Commerce on older plans), and the vendor states it is compatible with Squarespace 7.1 only.
Installation
Copy the supplied JavaScript into Code Injection and the CSS into Custom CSS, following the step-by-step guide included with the purchase. Editing the notices afterwards means editing the snippet, which is straightforward but worth knowing before you hand the site to a client.
