Overview

What Free Email Subscription Form Widget (Common Ninja) is

Free Email Subscription Form Widget is Common Ninja's newsletter sign-up form, a hosted widget built in their editor and embedded on a Squarespace page with one line of code. The old copy here described buttons, tabs and accordions, a different product.

What it does

The vendor page lists name and email plus custom fields such as first name, interests, company, referral source and a marketing consent checkbox, reorderable by drag and drop. New subscribers can sync to your email platform; the vendor names Mailchimp, MailerLite, Klaviyo and Zapier. Honeypot fields and optional CAPTCHA keep bots off the list, repeat submissions can be blocked, and the subscriber list exports to CSV from the Common Ninja dashboard.

Who it suits

Blogs, newsletters, launch waitlists and lead capture on Squarespace where you want segmentation fields or a direct sync to Klaviyo or MailerLite.

One honest caveat

Squarespace's own Newsletter Block is free, native and connects to Email Campaigns, Mailchimp, Zapier and Google Drive, so if you use one of those you probably do not need this. The widget earns its place for Klaviyo or MailerLite users and for consent and interest fields. Subscribers sit in Common Ninja's dashboard until synced, on a third party script.

Setup and pricing

Build the form in Common Ninja's editor and paste the embed code into a Squarespace code block (Core, formerly Business, plan or higher). Common Ninja is recurring software: the free plan covers one email subscription form with no time limit, and paid tiers add forms, submission volume, premium skins and the advanced features noted above.

FAQs

FAQs

What does the Common Ninja Email Subscription Form Widget do?
It adds a hosted newsletter sign-up form to a Squarespace page with custom subscriber fields, spam protection, notification emails, CSV export and sync to email marketing platforms.
Which email platforms does it connect to?
The vendor page names Mailchimp, MailerLite, Klaviyo and Zapier. Check the current integrations list on the vendor site before you rely on one.
How is it different from the Squarespace Newsletter Block?
The native block is free and connects to Email Campaigns, Mailchimp, Zapier and Google Drive. The widget adds Klaviyo and MailerLite sync, extra fields such as interests and consent, and repeat submission control.
Can I collect more than an email address?
Yes. Add first name, last name, interests, company, referral source or a marketing consent checkbox, and mark each required or optional.
How do I add it to Squarespace?
Build the form in Common Ninja's editor, copy the one-line embed snippet and paste it into a code block on the page. Code blocks need a Core (formerly Business) plan or higher. Later edits in the editor update the live embed automatically.
Is it free?
Common Ninja's free plan covers one email subscription form with no time limit and no credit card. Paid tiers add more forms, higher monthly submission limits, premium skins and advanced field types, webhook integrations and conditional logic. Check the current tier table on the vendor site before relying on a specific feature.
