Google Reviews

Google Reviews from Elfsight pulls the reviews from your Google Business Profile onto a Squarespace page. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform rather than native Squarespace code. In Elfsight's editor you connect your listing by Place ID, business name, address or a Google Maps share link; no Google API key is needed. Each review shows the author's name, photo, rating, date and text with a link back to Google, under a header with your overall star rating and review count. There are six layouts, colour and font controls, an optional AI summary card, and a Write a review button that opens the review box on your Google listing. New reviews sync automatically, usually within 72 hours.

Who it suits

Local businesses, tradespeople, clinics, restaurants and any service company whose Google rating is a selling point. Squarespace has no native way to show Google reviews, so this is one of the simplest routes. A free plan is available to start with.

One honest caveat

The widget lets you filter out low ratings and hide reviews by keyword. Be careful: showing only the good ones can breach consumer protection rules in the UK and elsewhere, and visitors can see the real picture on Google anyway. Each widget shows one location, so multi-site businesses need several widgets or Elfsight's All-in-One Reviews. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits, and the reviews disappear if your account lapses.

Installation

Connect your listing in Elfsight's editor, choose a layout, copy the embed code and paste it into a Squarespace code block where the reviews should appear. Later edits in the editor update automatically.
