Overview

What Job Application Form Builder (Common Ninja) is

Job Application Form Builder is Common Ninja's hiring form widget, a hosted form you build in Common Ninja's editor and embed on a Squarespace careers page. The old copy here described buttons, tabs and accordions, a different product.

What it does

The vendor page lists name, email and phone, CV file upload, cover letter, work experience, availability, salary expectations, available start date and custom screening questions per role, grouped under section headers. Notification emails alert the hiring manager, honeypot fields and optional CAPTCHA keep the list clean, and the applicant list exports to CSV for shortlisting.

Who it suits

Small businesses, restaurants, retailers, agencies and seasonal employers on Squarespace who want applications and CVs in one place without paying for an applicant tracking system.

One honest caveat

Squarespace's Form Block cannot accept file uploads, so the CV upload is the real reason to use this. In exchange, applicant data, which is personal data, sits in Common Ninja's dashboard on a third party script, so update your privacy notice and set a retention habit. Larger uploads are a paid-tier feature, and there is no pipeline or status tracking: it is an intake form, not an ATS.

Setup and pricing

Build the form in Common Ninja's editor and paste the embed code into a Squarespace code block (Core, formerly Business, plan or higher). Common Ninja is recurring software: the free plan covers one job application form with no time limit, and paid tiers add forms, submission volume, premium skins and the advanced features noted above.

FAQs

FAQs

What does the Common Ninja Job Application Form Builder do?
It adds a hosted application form to a Squarespace careers page with CV upload, cover letter, experience, availability, start date and custom screening questions, saving applicants to the Common Ninja dashboard with CSV export.
Can applicants upload a CV?
Yes. The file upload field accepts CVs, portfolios and cover letters, and attachments arrive with the submission in the dashboard. Larger upload limits are a paid-tier feature.
Why not use the Squarespace Form Block?
The native block has no file upload, so candidates would have to email a CV separately. That is the main gap this widget fills.
Is it an applicant tracking system?
No. It is an intake form with a list of submissions. There is no pipeline, status or interview scheduling; export to CSV and manage the process in a spreadsheet or ATS.
How do I add it to Squarespace?
Build the form in Common Ninja's editor, copy the one-line embed snippet and paste it into a code block on the page. Code blocks need a Core (formerly Business) plan or higher. Later edits in the editor update the live embed automatically.
Is it free?
Common Ninja's free plan covers one job application form with no time limit and no credit card. Paid tiers add more forms, higher monthly submission limits, premium skins and payment collection, advanced field types, webhook integrations and conditional logic. Check the current tier table on the vendor site before relying on a specific feature.
