Overview

Navigation Filter from Squarewebsites is a small editor-side tool, not something your visitors ever see. If your Squarespace site has dozens of pages, the Pages panel becomes a long scroll of folders and collections, and finding the one you need to edit takes longer than the edit itself. This plugin adds a search field to that panel so you can type part of a page title or URL and jump straight to it. Squarewebsites built it for the classic 7.0 Pages panel, hence the title, and it is one line of code pasted into footer injection.

Who it suits

Site owners and designers managing large Squarespace 7.0 sites: directories, multi-language sites, sites with many hidden or landing pages, and agencies who work across several such sites every day. If you already use Squarewebsites' PRO Chrome extension, the same feature is built in and you do not need this.

One honest caveat

It does nothing for your visitors. It does not create menus, filter content or change how your live site behaves, and the earlier copy on this page that suggested otherwise was wrong. It is also a niche utility for 7.0; Squarespace 7.1's Pages panel is organised differently, so check the vendor page for current compatibility before buying, and be aware that a tool this small depends on Squarespace not changing its editor. It needs code injection, so a Core plan or higher (Business or Commerce on older plans).

Installation

Paste the single line of code supplied by Squarewebsites into footer code injection. The search field then appears in your Pages panel when you next open the editor.

What it does
  • Adds a search field to the Squarespace 7.0 Pages panel
  • Finds pages and collections by title or URL
  • Speeds up editing on sites with many pages
  • Has no effect on the live site or visitors

FAQs

FAQs

What does the Squarewebsites Navigation Filter do?
It adds a search field to the Squarespace editor's Pages panel so you can find a page or collection by typing part of its title or URL. It is a tool for whoever edits the site, not for visitors.
Does it change my live website?
No. It only affects the editor's Pages panel. Visitors see no difference, and it does not create menus or filter content on the site.
Which Squarespace version does it support?
It was built for the Squarespace 7.0 Pages panel. Check the Squarewebsites page for current notes on 7.1 before buying.
Do I need a particular Squarespace plan?
Yes. It is installed through footer code injection, which requires a Core plan or higher (Business or Commerce on older plans).
Is it included in anything else?
Yes. Squarewebsites include the same feature in their PRO Chrome extension, so existing extension users do not need to buy it separately.
Can I remove it later?
Yes. Delete the line of code from footer injection and the Pages panel returns to normal.
