Photo Gallery from Elfsight adds an image gallery to a Squarespace page with layouts the native gallery block does not offer in quite the same way: grid, masonry, thumbnails with a large preview, a scrollable strip, a filterable gallery sorted by category, and a lightbox for full-size viewing. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform rather than native Squarespace code. You upload images in Elfsight's editor (JPG, PNG and WebP are accepted), arrange them, choose a layout and styling, then paste the embed code into your site. Images can link to pages, products or external URLs.

Who it suits

Photographers, makers and small businesses who want a filterable or masonry gallery without fighting Squarespace's own gallery section settings, and anyone who needs the same gallery on several pages, since editing it once in Elfsight updates every copy. A free plan is available to start with.

One honest caveat

This widget is for images only; Elfsight's own FAQ confirms video is not supported inside it, so mixed galleries need a different tool. Your images are hosted on Elfsight's servers rather than in Squarespace, free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and view limits, and an image-heavy embedded gallery will always add some load time compared with a native block, so keep file sizes sensible.

Installation

Build the gallery in Elfsight's editor, copy the embed code and paste it into a Squarespace code block where you want the gallery to appear. Later changes made in the editor update automatically.
