Popup from Elfsight adds a targeted pop-up window to a Squarespace site for offers, newsletter sign-ups, announcements, feedback requests or a welcome message. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform rather than native Squarespace code. In Elfsight's editor you choose a layout, arrange text, images, an embedded YouTube or Vimeo video and a form element for collecting emails, then set the targeting: which pages it appears on, which devices, how often, and what triggers it. Triggers include page load, a time delay, scrolling a percentage of the page, reaching a specific element, clicking an element and exit intent. You can show it once per visitor and schedule start and end dates for a campaign.

Who it suits

Shops running promotions, course creators and newsletter writers collecting sign-ups, and anyone who has outgrown Squarespace's built-in promotional pop-up, which offers one pop-up with limited triggers. A free plan is available to start with.

One honest caveat

Exit intent relies on mouse movement, so it does not fire on phones or tablets, and Google's guidance on intrusive interstitials means an aggressive pop-up on mobile can hurt rankings as well as patience. Use delays and frequency caps. Squarespace's own promotional pop-up is included on Business plans and above, so check that first. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits, and the pop-up stops appearing if your account lapses.

Installation

Build the pop-up in Elfsight's editor, copy the embed code and paste it into Squarespace footer code injection so the targeting rules control where it shows. Later edits in the editor update automatically.
