Overview
Common Ninja's RSS Feed Slider takes any RSS feed, such as a blog, news site, podcast or partner publication, and shows its latest items as a slider on a Squarespace page.
What it does
- Pulls items from any public RSS feed
- Shows titles, images and excerpts as slides
- Swiping, arrows and optional autoplay
- Updates as the feed publishes new items
Who it suits
Organisations that publish elsewhere (Substack, Medium, a podcast host, a parent organisation's news site) and want the latest pieces on their Squarespace site.
Honest caveats
What you can show depends on what the feed includes; some feeds have no images. The free plan has usage limits and paid plans are billed yearly per widget, from $24 a year. JavaScript in code blocks needs a Squarespace Core plan or higher. For a list or grid instead, see the Common Ninja RSS Feed Widget.
Most teams evaluate it against manual layout tweaks: the pitch is faster iteration on carousels, sliders, and rotating media without exporting the problem to custom code.
Fit depends on your template and commerce setup; compare Common Ninja’s live examples to your own navigation, commerce, or section patterns before buying.
Use SquareLocator as a starting point, then validate details (refunds, updates, support channels) directly with Common Ninja before committing.
Strongest when your brief explicitly mentions carousels, sliders, and rotating media; weaker if you only need generic “make the site better” tooling.
