Squarespace Goal Progress Bar Plugin

Squarespace Goal Progress Bar Plugin from The Square Genius adds an animated horizontal progress bar to a Squarespace 7.1 page, showing how far a fundraising target, project or campaign has come. When the section scrolls into view the bar fills to the current percentage, the raised amount counts up, and hovering reveals a tooltip with more detail. Colours, font sizes and the speed of the animation are adjustable, and the plugin is supplied as code you add to your site rather than as a hosted widget, so there is nothing to subscribe to.

Who it suits

Charities and community groups running appeals, schools and clubs raising money for a specific purchase, and businesses with a public target such as trees planted or meals donated. It is a good fit for a campaign landing page where the number is the story.

One honest caveat

The bar is not connected to your donation platform. The current total is a value you type into the code, so someone has to update it as money comes in; a progress bar stuck at 40% for three weeks does more harm than no bar at all. Custom code needs a Core plan or higher (Business or Commerce on older plans), and the vendor states it is compatible with Squarespace 7.1 only.

Installation

Copy the supplied code into your Squarespace 7.1 site following the full instruction guide included, then set the goal, the current amount and your colours. Updating progress later means changing one value in the code.
