Text Reveal on Scroll from SQS Mods does one thing: as the visitor scrolls, a block of text appears letter by letter, so a headline or a key sentence writes itself onto the page rather than simply sitting there. It is a storytelling device, and used sparingly it gives a homepage or a campaign page a sense of pace. The effect can be customised to fit your typography and it behaves correctly on mobile, where scroll-driven effects often break.
Who it suits
Brands with a manifesto or a single strong line to land, agencies and studios with editorial homepages, and campaign or launch pages where one message carries the whole page. We would not put it on every paragraph; it works because it is rare.
One honest caveat
Animated text is slower to read than static text, and some visitors find motion distracting. Keep the revealed passages short, and check that the text is still legible for anyone who has reduced motion enabled on their device.
Installation
SQS Mods plugins are delivered as code you add to your Squarespace 7.1 site, following their instructions to target the text you want animated. Custom code of this kind normally requires a plan that permits code injection.
