The Course on Squarespace Courses
Overview

What it covers

The Course on Squarespace Courses is a short, practical walkthrough of Squarespace's built in Courses feature, made by Chelsea of 23&9 Creative, a Squarespace template designer based near Washington DC. A note on attribution: earlier versions of this listing credited it to another vendor; it is a 23&9 Creative product and the link takes you there.

It is ten lessons running about an hour in total, in three sections. Introduction to Squarespace Courses (three lessons, around 17 minutes) covers a courses overview, pricing to sell courses and how to add a course to a site. Creating a Course (four lessons, around 30 minutes) covers pricing plans, the paywall, the course overview page and adding course content. Selling a Course (three lessons, around 14 minutes) covers digital product blocks, customer notifications and the Squarespace Campaigns integration for email. Everything is shown on Squarespace 7.1.

Who it is for

Business owners on Squarespace who have expertise to teach and have been put off by the assumed technical difficulty, and designers who have not yet set up Squarespace Courses for a client and want to see the whole flow once before they do. If you already know the Courses interface, an hour of screen recording will not add much.

Format and access

Pre-recorded video lessons delivered through 23&9 Creative's own site, watched at your own pace. It is one of the cheapest courses we list, priced as an impulse purchase rather than a programme.

Where it falls short

This is a tour of the feature, not a course on making a course. It does not cover curriculum design, recording and editing video, or marketing beyond the Squarespace Campaigns hook. It also does not get into the plan you need: Squarespace Courses is a paid feature and transaction fees vary by plan, so read the pricing guide linked below before you commit to hosting on Squarespace rather than a dedicated platform. Having set up Courses for clients myself, the feature is good for simple video and text lessons and weak on quizzes, certificates and drip scheduling, and this course will not change that.
