Overview
Accessibility Widget is a Squarespace 7.1 plugin from Will Myers that adds an accessibility toolbar to your site. Visitors open a settings panel and adjust how the page displays for them: font size, line height, letter spacing, a dyslexia friendly font, a bigger cursor, greyscale, inverted colours, saturation and hiding images, with a reset button to return to the default view.
What you get
- An accessibility settings button and panel on every page
- Visitor controls for font size, line height and letter spacing
- Dyslexia friendly font and big cursor options
- Greyscale, invert colours and saturation display modes
- Hide images option and a reset settings button
Who it suits
Sites whose visitors include older readers or people with dyslexia or low vision, and organisations that want to show they have thought about accessibility: charities, public sector, healthcare and education.
Honest limits
- Needs a Squarespace Core (Business) plan or higher, not Basic (Personal)
- Squarespace 7.1 only
- Will cannot guarantee compatibility with other custom code or third-party plugins
- Support is best effort for the first 60 days after purchase
- A visitor-side display toolbar: it does not fix underlying accessibility issues such as missing alt text, contrast or heading structure, and does not by itself make a site compliant with any standard
How it is delivered
Bought directly from Will Myers' plugin store. The single licence is $25 for one website, and a $60 multi-use licence covers unlimited websites and use in Squarespace templates you sell. It installs with copy and paste code from a password protected installation page, with customisation available through CSS. Support is offered on a best effort basis for the first 60 days after purchase.

The controls cover the adjustments people most often ask for: larger text, more line height and letter spacing, a dyslexia friendly font, a bigger cursor, greyscale, inverted colours, saturation and the option to hide images. The settings apply in the visitor's own browser and do not change your site for anyone else.
As a Squarespace agency, our honest view is that a toolbar like this is a helpful extra rather than a fix. It does not repair missing alt text, poor contrast or messy heading structure, and it does not make a site compliant with an accessibility standard on its own. Do those basics first, then add the widget.
It costs $25 for a single site or $60 for the multi-use licence, installs with copy and paste code, needs a Core (Business) plan or higher on Squarespace 7.1, and comes with best effort support for 60 days.
