Active is a Squarespace 7.1 template from the SquareKicker template store, built for gyms, fitness clubs and training studios. In the interests of honesty: the creator account behind it on SquareKicker is Altitude, my own agency. The demo opens on a Welcome to Your Active Life hero, then runs through about, history, gallery and ethos panels in a dark, high-contrast layout with blue, red and orange accents, so it reads as a club with energy rather than a quiet wellness studio.
What you get
- Seven page layouts: Home, About, History, Gallery, Ethos, Classes and Contact
- Squarespace 7.1 with Fluid Engine, so sections are drag and drop in the standard editor
- 15 saved sections to build new pages from
- SquareKicker effects built in: a desktop overlay menu, smooth scroll, footer reveal, sticky sections and blocks, horizontal scrolling and scroll effects
- A Contact page with an enquiry form and a map
Who it suits
Independent gyms, boxing and strength clubs, CrossFit boxes and training studios with a story to tell. The History and Ethos pages give a club with a founder or a long local record somewhere to say so.
Honest limits
There is no membership checkout or class booking built in, so timetables and sign-ups come from Squarespace Scheduling, Mindbody or your own gym software. There is no blog or shop in the layout. The scroll and menu effects are SquareKicker Extension features, so keep the subscription if you want to keep editing them after the 30-day trial.
How it is delivered
SquareKicker templates install onto a new or existing Squarespace 7.1 site the moment you buy, with a choice of keeping your existing styles or using the template's. It is a one-off purchase for one site, with a 30-day SquareKicker Extension trial and 10 per cent off a Squarespace plan. You need a Business or Core plan or higher to publish, and SquareKicker does not refund digital products.
