Overview
Audio Player from Elfsight lets you add a music player to a Squarespace page, with playlists for sharing tracks, podcasts, audio shows or lectures. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform, not native Squarespace code. You build and customise it in Elfsight's online editor, then add it to Squarespace with an embed code. The editor lets you add tracks by URL or upload them, choose whether to show a playlist, and set looping, shuffle and autoplay options. You can also customise the player's colours and track details, hide parts of its interface, and add download or purchase links for tracks.
Who it suits
This player suits musicians sharing releases, creators publishing audio shows or podcasts, and educators offering audio lectures. It can also be used to collect tracks in a playlist or give visitors a way to download or buy audio. A free plan is available to start with.
One honest caveat
When you upload audio files, the player adds the file name, and you need to enter other track details yourself. Autoplay is an available setting, but visitors can also use the player's controls. On the free plan, widgets carry Elfsight branding and have monthly view limits; paid plans remove these. The player stops showing if your Elfsight account lapses.
Installation
Build and customise the player in Elfsight's online editor, then copy its embed code. In Squarespace, add a Code Block where you want the player to appear and paste the code there. Later edits made in the Elfsight editor update automatically on your site.

Create a playlist and add tracks, then choose playback options including loop, shuffle and autoplay. You can show or hide the playlist, and place the player where you want it on your site. The editor offers different design options, without the vendor page specifying a number of layouts.
Adjust the player's appearance by recolouring its elements and choosing whether to show details such as the author, title and progress bar. You can hide parts of the interface, including track details or specific control buttons. A dark colour scheme is also available.
For tracks you distribute, you can add a download button. The editor also supports custom action buttons, such as a link to a purchase page, with an icon you choose. When you upload audio files, the player adds the file name, so you need to enter other track details manually. Build the widget in Elfsight's editor and embed its code in a Squarespace Code Block. The player is hosted by Elfsight, and later editor changes update on your site.
