Overview

Banner from Elfsight lets you place a promotional or announcement banner on a Squarespace page, with images or video, text and a call-to-action button to draw attention to a message or offer. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform, not native Squarespace code. You build and customise it in Elfsight's online editor: choose an image or video, set its position and background, add a title and text, and link the banner or button to a website, email address or phone number. You can also adjust the button's text, colour, fill or outline, size and corner radius. Set the banner's width and height, then copy its embed code into Squarespace.

Who it suits

This banner suits Squarespace site owners who want to feature an offer, announcement, news item, event or welcome message within a page. It can also be used as a floating banner that stays visible while visitors scroll. You can start with a free plan.

One honest caveat

The banner is edited through Elfsight rather than Squarespace, so changes to its content and styling need to be made in Elfsight's editor. Its buttons link to a website, email address or phone number. On the free tier, the widget displays Elfsight branding and has monthly view limits; paid plans remove these. The banner stops showing if the Elfsight account lapses.

Installation

Build and style the banner in Elfsight's editor, then copy its embed code. For an inline banner, add a Squarespace Code Block where you want it and paste the code. For a floating banner, paste the code into Squarespace Code Injection as described on the vendor's Squarespace page.

Use the banner to present a promotion, announcement or other message on a Squarespace page. Add an image, video, title and text, then link the banner or its call-to-action button to a website, email address or phone number. The vendor also describes combining images, video backgrounds, text layers, forms, promo codes and buttons in one banner.

The editor offers controls for the banner's position and background, along with its width and height. Choose full width or custom width, and adjust the height to suit the space. You can preview changes in the online configurator as you make them. The vendor lists formats such as Billboard, Medium Rectangle, Leaderboard and Skyscraper as possible banner sizes.

Button styling can be adjusted separately. Set its text and colour, choose a filled or outlined style, and change its size, corner radius and font. A button can send visitors to a web page, start an email or dial a phone number. The editor also lets you choose whether a link opens in a new tab.

Elfsight provides ready-made templates, including vertical, sale, webinar announcement, general announcement, news, moving and welcome banners. You can start with a template or assemble a banner in the configurator. Add the embed code to a Squarespace Code Block for an inline placement, or use Code Injection for a floating banner. Later edits in Elfsight's editor update the embedded widget automatically.

Is this native Squarespace code?
No. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform and built in Elfsight's online editor.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The free tier includes Elfsight branding and monthly view limits. Paid plans remove these.
Can I remove the widget later?
Yes. Remove the embed code from the Squarespace Code Block or Code Injection location where you added it.
