A Squarespace Code Block is where custom design goes to become unmaintainable. You (or an AI tool) build a pricing table, an FAQ or a set of feature cards in HTML, it looks great, and then the client needs to change one price and the job comes back to you. The Code Block Editor from SQS Mods fixes that by turning the content inside any Code Block into plain fields. Open the block and a panel appears listing every heading, paragraph, link, colour and image as something the client can edit, while the HTML, CSS and any animation stay locked out of view.

What is new in Version 3.0

Version 3.0 rolled out automatically to every installed site in October 2026. Images can now be swapped for anything in the Squarespace Asset Library or uploaded straight from the panel. Repeated patterns such as FAQ entries, cards and testimonials get Add an item, remove and drag-to-reorder controls. Undo now works step by step with named actions, each field has its own undo, and the panel can be docked beside the page so clicking any text or image jumps to its field.

Who it suits

Designers and agencies handing over Squarespace sites with custom Code Blocks, especially blocks generated with ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or v0, where the markup is dense and a client edit is risky. It also suits site owners who built something custom and want to update it later without reading code.

One honest caveat

It only edits what already exists in the block's HTML, so it cannot add new kinds of content the code was not written for. Each licence covers one site, so agencies pay per client site. The editor appears when the Code Block's own editor is opened, so clients still need to know which block to open.
