Speakeasy is a Squarespace 7.1 template by Dreyah Bohlen, sold through the SquareKicker template store, built for high-end bars, cocktail lounges and upscale restaurants. The demo is a hidden cocktail bar: a dark hero promising an exclusive experience tucked away in the city, a craft section, signature cocktails with a twist, a plan-your-next-event block, a ready-to-indulge call to action and a social prompt, with About, Menu, Reservations, Private Events and Contact pages. The old listing had the audience right; its claim of a built-in reservation system was generous.
What you get
- Six pages: Home, About, Menu, Reservations, Private Events and Contact, on Squarespace 7.1 with Fluid Engine
- A dark, image-led home page with craft, signature cocktails, private events and call-to-action sections
- A menu page laid out for cocktails, spirits and small plates, and a private events page for hire enquiries
- A black, brown, blue and gold palette that changes in the Squarespace style editor
- SquareKicker scroll effects and animation settings, editable while the extension is active
- A one-off purchase with a free 30-day SquareKicker extension trial
Who it suits
Cocktail bars, speakeasies, hotel bars, wine bars, members' lounges and fine-dining restaurants that trade on atmosphere and want a moody site with a menu, a reservations page and a route to private hire. Six pages is the right size for a single venue; a group can duplicate the layout per site.
Honest limits
The Reservations page is a form layout, not a live booking engine: embed OpenTable, Resy, SevenRooms or Tock for real-time tables. The menu is a styled text layout you update by hand, with no POS sync. The dark palette needs professional low-light photography, and the demo copy is heavy on luxury and intrigue, so a relaxed neighbourhood bar rewrites it. There is no shop for merchandise or gift vouchers without Squarespace commerce. The animations are SquareKicker features that stay in place after the 30-day trial but need a subscription to keep editing.
How it is delivered
SquareKicker templates install through the SquareKicker Template Engine onto a new or existing Squarespace 7.1 site: connect the free SquareKicker extension, pick the template and it installs in a few clicks, with the choice of keeping your existing site styles or replacing them with the template's. There is no duplicate site to copy from. The purchase is one-off and includes a 30-day SquareKicker extension trial; you need a Squarespace Core plan or higher to publish, and SquareKicker template buyers get 10 per cent off a Squarespace plan.
