Split Footer from SQS Mods divides a Squarespace footer into two distinct parts, so one side can carry a dedicated call to action (a booking button, a newsletter signup, a contact prompt) while the other keeps the usual links and details. It is delivered as code you add to your site, and it is a footer layout tool, not the interface-component plugin an earlier version of this page described. You can place the call-to-action panel on the left or right, add or remove rounded corners, and have it either stick out from the footer or sit level with it. SQS Mods state it works on Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1.

Who it suits

Service businesses that want a persistent "book a call" or "get a quote" prompt at the bottom of every page, and designers who want a footer that looks considered rather than default. It suits sites where the footer is the last chance to convert a reader who has scrolled the whole page.

One honest caveat

The plugin works by pushing down the second-to-last section on a page, which means SQS Mods cannot automatically apply the split footer to every page for you. You can use it on all pages, each with its own call to action, or on just one, but either way it is set up page by page. Custom code needs a Business plan or higher, and SQS Mods do not offer refunds on digital products.

Installation

Add the code following SQS Mods' instructions and build the call-to-action content in the section the plugin targets. SQS Mods allow use on multiple sites you build yourself, provided the code is not shared.

SQS Mods build their plugins from problems that came up on real client sites, a story we cover in why every SQSMODS plugin starts with a real client problem.
