Squarespace Interactive Maps

Squarespace's Map Block shows a single pin on a default Google map. Squarespace Interactive Maps, sold by Squarewebsites as the Advanced Interactive Map Block (Unlimited Sites edition), extends that same block so it can show many locations at once, each with its own marker, details and styling that matches your site rather than Google's standard colours. Locations can be entered directly or pulled from a Gallery, Blog or Events collection, so adding a new branch later means adding a collection item rather than editing code. It works on all templates on Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1, and this licence covers any number of sites.

Who it suits

Multi-location businesses, estate agents, tour operators, festival and event organisers, and especially designers who build client sites and need a map plugin they can reuse without buying a licence each time. It also pairs with Squarewebsites' Universal Filter so visitors can filter locations by tag or search by address.

One honest caveat

It only works on the Map Block, and the Map Block uses Google Maps under the hood, so an address that Google cannot find will not appear on your map either. The plugin needs code injection, which means a Core plan or higher, or Business or Commerce on older plans (a workaround exists for Personal plans but could stop working). The installation code is emailed after purchase rather than downloaded instantly. If you only run one site, the single-site edition does the same job.

Installation

Paste the emailed installation code into footer code injection once. Your Map Block settings then gain the extra options for multiple locations, markers and styling.
