Overview
Telegram Chat from Elfsight adds a chat button or chat window to a Squarespace page, giving visitors a route to message you through Telegram. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform, not native Squarespace code. In the Elfsight editor, you can connect a Telegram username, bot or profile, choose a floating bubble, embed bubble or embed chat window, and adjust the bubble icon and text. You can also set the chat header, add a welcome or prefilled message, choose where the widget appears and set display triggers such as a time delay, scroll activity or exit intent. Visitors need to be signed into Telegram to start a conversation.
Who it suits
This widget suits Squarespace businesses that handle enquiries, support requests, bookings or order questions through Telegram. It can give visitors a direct way to start a conversation from a page, while keeping the chat on Telegram. A free plan is available to start with.
One honest caveat
Visitors must be signed into Telegram to message you. On mobile, the chat opens in the Telegram app; on desktop, it redirects to Telegram Web or the desktop application, so the conversation does not take place inside Squarespace. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits. Paid plans remove those limits and branding. The widget stops showing if your Elfsight account lapses.
Installation
Build the widget in Elfsight's online editor, configure its Telegram username and appearance, then copy the embed code. In Squarespace, add a Code Block where you want the widget and paste in the code. Later changes made in the editor update automatically.

Choose one of three placements: a floating bubble, an embed bubble or an embed chat window. The editor also offers a library of bubble icons and editable bubble text. For the chat header, you can set a picture, name and caption. These options let you present the chat in a way that fits the page and gives visitors context before they open it.
You can add a welcome message or a prefilled message to help visitors begin with useful context. The widget can also appear in response to a time delay, scroll activity or exit intent. The vendor page says you can set it to appear on specific pages or for certain groups of visitors, and lists triggers including time on page and exit intent.
This is an Elfsight-hosted embed, not a built-in Squarespace chat feature. Set it up in Elfsight's editor, copy the embed code and paste it into a Squarespace Code Block. Changes made in the editor update automatically. A free plan is available, with Elfsight branding and monthly view limits on free-tier widgets. The widget will stop showing if the Elfsight account lapses.
