UNDER

UNDER is a Squarespace 7.1 template sold through the SquareKicker template store and designed by Jen Maher. It is built for a full-service bar or saloon with live entertainment, and the demo is The Under Saloon, a basement cocktail bar in Seattle open since 1892: a Crafting Memories and Creating Legends hero, a cocktails and small plates introduction, a Legendary Entertainment block, a come-and-find-us map section and a history teaser. It is a venue template, not a restaurant template, and the pages behind the home page show that: entertainment, pride nights, artist playlists, reviews and a hiring page alongside the food menu.

What you get

• Eleven page layouts: Home, Entertainment, Pride Nights, Menu, History, Gallery, Reviews, Playlists, Join Our Team, Contact Us and a styled 404
• Squarespace 7.1 with Fluid Engine, so sections are drag and drop in the standard editor
• An Entertainment page with an upcoming events list and a Pride Nights page for a recurring monthly event
• A Reviews page with press and customer quotes and a share-your-thoughts form, plus a Join Our Team page with an application form
• A Gallery page organised by night, and a Playlists page for local artists
• A black, brown, white and neutral palette with a speakeasy feel, set in the style editor

Who it suits

Cocktail bars, saloons, jazz clubs, comedy rooms and any venue where the programme matters as much as the menu. The hiring and reviews pages are unusual in a template and save a venue building them. It would also carry a brewery taproom or a wine bar with live nights.

Honest limits

Reservations are deliberately absent: the demo says walk-ins only, and there is no booking page, so if you take tables you add an OpenTable or Resy embed. The Menu page is a food menu only with an editable text layout; a full drinks list means adding a menu block. Events are a hand-edited list rather than a Squarespace events collection, so ticket sales need Eventbrite, Dice or the Eventually plugin. No blog and no shop in the layout. And eleven pages is a lot for a bar without a programme to fill them.

How it is delivered

SquareKicker templates install onto a new or existing Squarespace 7.1 site the moment you buy, with a choice of Use Template Styles or Keep Existing Styles, so it can go onto a live site without wiping your fonts and colours. It is a one-off purchase for one site (a new licence per client project), no SquareKicker subscription is needed to keep using it, and a 30-day trial of the SquareKicker Extension and 10 per cent off a Squarespace plan are included. You need a Business or Core plan or higher to publish, and SquareKicker does not refund digital products.
