Waterfront is a Squarespace 7.1 template sold through the SquareKicker template store and designed by Altitude, my own agency. It is a restaurant template, and the demo is a seafood restaurant by the sea: a full-screen hero, a coastal culinary escape introduction, then Our Story, Our Mission, Our Vision and Our Chef panels. It is a large, image-heavy site for a single venue with a story to tell, and I would put it in front of a destination restaurant before a neighbourhood cafe.

What you get

  • Ten page layouts: Home, About Us, Menu, Dinner Menu, Food and Drink, Meet the Team, Suppliers, Gallery, Contact Us and Book a Table
  • Squarespace 7.1 with Fluid Engine, so sections are drag and drop in the standard editor
  • A Menu page split into Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Drinks, plus a Dinner Menu page built on the Squarespace menu block so prices and dishes are editable text
  • A Suppliers page that profiles nine producers, a Meet the Team page with chef and manager cards, and a Food and Drink page with review quotes
  • A Contact page with an enquiry form and an FAQ (parking, reservations, opening days, dietary needs)
  • An orange, black and yellow palette that changes in the Squarespace style editor, no code needed

Who it suits

Restaurants, bistros and seafood or farm-to-table venues with strong photography and a provenance story. The Suppliers page is unusual and genuinely useful for a kitchen that trades on local sourcing. It also fits a hotel restaurant or a winery kitchen that wants the food to lead.

Honest limits

Book a Table is a page with the address, phone and email on it, not a live reservation system. To take bookings you embed OpenTable, Resy, SevenRooms or similar; nothing is wired in. There is no online ordering, no events page and no blog in the layout, so lunch specials and live nights would go on the home page or a new page. Ten pages is a lot for a single venue, and a place without a chef bio and a supplier story will leave half of it empty.

How it is delivered

SquareKicker templates install onto a new or existing Squarespace 7.1 site the moment you buy, with a choice of Use Template Styles or Keep Existing Styles, so it can go onto a live site without wiping your fonts and colours. It is a one-off purchase for one site (a new licence per client project), no SquareKicker subscription is needed to keep using it, and a 30-day trial of the SquareKicker Extension and 10 per cent off a Squarespace plan are included. You need a Business or Core plan or higher to publish, and SquareKicker does not refund digital products.

FAQs

FAQs

Who is Waterfront designed for?
Altitude, my own agency, built it for a full-service restaurant with a story to tell. The demo is a seafood restaurant by the sea with chef, mission, team and supplier pages, so it suits destination restaurants, bistros and farm-to-table venues more than a quick-service cafe.
What pages are included?
Ten layouts: Home, About Us, Menu, Dinner Menu, Food and Drink, Meet the Team, Suppliers, Gallery, Contact Us and Book a Table, all on Squarespace 7.1 with Fluid Engine.
Does it take reservations?
Not on its own. Book a Table is a page with the address, phone and email; to take live bookings you embed OpenTable, Resy, SevenRooms or a similar widget.
How are menus handled?
The Menu page is split into Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Drinks, and the Dinner Menu page uses the Squarespace menu block, so dishes and prices are editable text rather than a PDF.
Does it include online ordering or a blog?
No. There is no ordering, events page or blog in the layout. Squarespace lets you add a blog or a store after install, and ordering would be a third-party embed.
Do I need a SquareKicker subscription?
No. It is a one-off purchase that installs instantly onto a new or existing Squarespace 7.1 site, with a 30-day SquareKicker Extension trial and 10 per cent off a Squarespace plan. You need a Business or Core plan or higher to publish.
