Overview
Weather from Elfsight adds current conditions and forecasts for a selected location to a Squarespace page. Visitors can see temperature and weather details, with options to show an hourly forecast or a daily forecast for the week ahead. This is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform, not native Squarespace code. You build and configure it in Elfsight's online editor, choosing a location by name, ZIP code or coordinates, and setting the display language and temperature unit. The editor offers five forecast configurations, themed or solid-colour backgrounds, and controls for background colours and widget size. Once installed, later edits made in Elfsight's editor update automatically.
Who it suits
This could suit a local business sharing conditions for its area, a travel or visitor site showing a destination forecast, or an organiser helping visitors plan an outdoor event. It is useful when weather context belongs alongside other page information. A free plan is available to start with.
One honest caveat
The widget has five forecast configurations, so the available presentation is based on those options rather than an unrestricted custom layout. The hourly view covers 12 hours, while the daily view covers the week ahead. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits; paid plans remove those. The widget is hosted by Elfsight, so it stops showing if the Elfsight account lapses.
Installation
Build and configure the widget in Elfsight's online editor, then copy the embed code it provides. In Squarespace, add a Code Block where you want the forecast to appear and paste in the code. Later changes made in the Elfsight editor update automatically.

The hourly option covers the next 12 hours, and the daily option shows the week ahead with dates. The detailed view can include pressure, humidity and wind speed alongside temperature and weather information.
You can choose from more than 30 languages and select a temperature unit. For the background, the widget can use themed images that reflect conditions such as rain, sun or clouds, or a solid colour you choose. You can adjust the main and daily background colours, vary the widget size and select which weather information to display.
We'd consider this when a forecast is useful context for a page, such as information about a town, travel destination or outdoor event.
