Little Legends is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 templates, built on Fluid Engine and styled as the website of a children's multi-sport summer camp. The demo, Little Legends League, pairs a sunny yellow palette with bold headlines like "All Sports. All Summer." The pages in the demo nav are Home, About Us, a Camp Overview folder holding Rookie Camp, All Pro Camp and Varsity Camp, then Coaches and Contact Us. The home page introduces the camp, summarises the three programmes and what each includes, carries three parent testimonials and ends with an FAQ accordion about a typical day, what to bring and bad weather plans.
Who it suits
Summer camps and holiday clubs first, then sports academies, after-school programmes and youth clubs: anyone selling a few programmes to parents who need their questions answered before they book. The three-tier structure maps neatly onto age groups or skill levels. It is not a baby products shop, whatever the old listing on this page said: there is no product catalogue in the demo.
One honest caveat
There is no registration or payment flow. The demo has a contact form, not a booking system, so taking deposits or sign-ups online means adding Squarespace commerce or linking out to a camp registration service. The programme pages are thin, there is no custom code and every image is a placeholder, so you will need good photographs of real sessions.
Setting it up
Choose Little Legends in Squarespace's template picker when you start a new site, or open the demo and start from it. Rewrite the three programme pages first, then the FAQ and testimonials, swap the photographs and edit the sections with the drag and drop Fluid Engine editor. It sits in my free Squarespace templates collection, alongside the full Squarespace templates list if you want to compare it with paid designs.
What Before After Image Slider isBefore After Image Slider is a Squarespace 7.1 plugin by Squarespell that stacks two images and lets a visitor drag a divider across them to compare a before and an after. It is a code plugin delivered as an instant download, aimed at photographers, designers and service businesses that show transformations. The old listing on this page described a carousel with autoplay, timing controls and mixed media slides; that was a different product. This is a single comparison slider, not a carousel. What it doesYou install the plugin code and set up a slider with a before image and an after image; the divider moves with the mouse on desktop and responds on tablet and mobile, and Squarespell describe the transition as smooth rather than stepped. It is tested on Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, and the styles are adjustable so the handle and divider can be matched to your brand. Squarespell sell it on a single site licence or a multi use licence for unlimited websites, with bundle discounts applied automatically when you buy two or more of their plugins.Who it suitsRetouchers and portrait photographers, interior and landscape designers, renovation trades, cleaning and detailing businesses, aesthetics clinics and web designers showing redesigns: anyone whose service is best proven by a side by side. The multi use licence suits designers who want one slider across client sites. One honest caveatThere is no live demo linked from the product page at the time of writing, and the feature list is short, so you cannot check the handle style, label options or whether a vertical divider is supported before buying. Compare it with Will Myers' before and after slider, which has a public demo and a no code style builder, before deciding. Squarespell state on the listing that they verified the creator and pricing but have not installed the plugin themselves.SetupYou need a Squarespace 7.1 site on a plan with code injection, which means Core or higher; the Basic plan does not allow custom code. Install is a copy and paste of the plugin code followed by adding your two images per slider. Delivery is an instant download. The single licence covers one website and the multi use licence covers unlimited websites.Related guideI keep comparison and carousel tools together in the Squarespace slider plugins sub-collection. Mason is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 templates, built on Fluid Engine and styled as a coming soon page for a fashion label. The demo site is called Ilana Mason and it is a single page: a full-bleed photograph behind a black section, the words Coming Soon, one line inviting visitors to sign up to hear when the Spring Collection lands, a newsletter form and social icons. A cart icon in the header suggests the site is meant to grow into a shop after launch. There is no About, no Lookbook and no product grid, whatever the old listing on this page said.
Who it suits
Anyone who needs a launch page before the real site exists: a clothing or beauty brand collecting email addresses ahead of a first drop, a designer announcing a collection, or any business that wants a domain live with a sign-up form while the full build happens. With a different photograph it works for almost any brand.
One honest caveat
You are getting one page, and that is all. If you choose Mason expecting a fashion store, you will be building the Shop, About and Contact pages from blank Fluid Engine sections yourself. The look depends on one strong photograph, and the newsletter block needs a storage destination (Squarespace Campaigns, Mailchimp or a spreadsheet) before it collects anything.
Setting it up
Choose Mason in Squarespace's template picker when you start a new site, or open the demo and start from it. Replace the background image, rewrite the two lines of copy, connect the newsletter storage and swap the social links. That is about an hour of work. It is listed in my free Squarespace templates collection; if you want a full store layout from day one, compare the paid designs in the Squarespace templates for fashion brands collection instead.

With touch-friendly swiping, customizable timing, and autoplay options, this plugin enhances user engagement with mixed media slides without disrupting Squarespace's native structure.
Websites show every visitor the same thing every time, which is efficient and slightly dull. Will Myers' Section Randomizer breaks the pattern: it shows different section visuals on each page load, so returning visitors are greeted with something fresh rather than the exact page they saw last week. For portfolios it means a different hero project each visit; for creative studios it makes the site itself feel alive. Installation is copy-and-paste with a video, the plugin is automatically maintained as Squarespace changes, and it costs $25 for a single site or $60 multi-use covering unlimited websites and templates for sale.

Interactive Maps from Common Ninja is a colour-coded regional map, not a street map. It draws a country or the world as clickable regions (states, counties, provinces) and lets you colour each one by category, add a tooltip with an image and text, link a region to another page and show a legend. Common Ninja lists several hundred country and world maps to choose from. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Common Ninja's platform rather than native Squarespace code: you set it up in their editor, choose a design skin, adjust colours and fonts or add custom CSS, then paste one embed snippet into a Squarespace page.Who it suitsAnyone who needs to show where something applies rather than where something is: a service company listing the counties it covers, a distributor with regional territories, a charity showing project areas, a school with catchment zones, or a blogger presenting data by state. The free plan lets you build and publish one map with no time limit. One honest caveatIf what you actually want is pins on a Google map with addresses and directions, this is the wrong widget; Common Ninja's Google Maps Widget does that. This one is for shading regions. The free plan is limited to one widget with fewer features, and the map loads from Common Ninja's servers, so a lapsed paid plan drops it back to the free tier and switches premium features off.InstallationBuild the map in Common Ninja's editor, copy the embed snippet and paste it into a Squarespace code block. Edits made in the editor update on your site automatically.Related guide: for pin-based maps and locators, see how the alternatives compare in our best store locator plugins for Squarespace roundup.
The Create Form Builder widget enhances Squarespace by enabling site owners to seamlessly integrate buttons, tabs, and accordions. This tool allows for intentional design and consistent styling within your theme, reducing the need for complex workarounds. Enhance micro-UI elements effortlessly while maintaining control over your site’s functionality and aesthetics.
Smash Club is a Squarespace 7.1 template by Square Design, sold through the SquareKicker template store, built for tennis clubs and adaptable to other sports clubs, fitness centres and teams. The demo is a tennis club: a take-your-game-to-the-next-level hero, a why-choose-us section, an our-courses grid, an experience-in-action gallery, an FAQ and a join-our-community close, with About Us, Courses, Pricing and Contact pages plus legal pages and a 404. It is a club site built around coaching courses and membership pricing, not the generic class-schedule-and-testimonials template older listings described. What you get
Nine page layouts: Home, About Us, Courses, Pricing, Contact, Cookies Policy, Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions and 404, on Squarespace 7.1 with Fluid Engine
Twenty-two SquareKicker sections covering hero, services, gallery, FAQ, contact, people, pricing, legal and footer
A pricing page for membership tiers and a courses page for coaching programmes
A black, green and white palette that changes in the Squarespace style editor
SquareKicker animations: desktop overlay menu, custom cursors, smooth scroll, sticky sections, anchor links, horizontal scrolling, sticky split and scroll effects
A one-off purchase with a free 30-day SquareKicker extension trial
Who it suitsTennis, padel, squash and racket clubs, sports academies, boxing and martial arts gyms, climbing centres and local teams that sell coaching courses and memberships and want a bold, energetic site. A personal trainer could use it, but the club framing (courses, pricing, community) is what it does best.Honest limitsThere is no live timetable or booking: the Courses page describes programmes, so court booking, class registration and membership sign-up mean embedding your club software (or Acuity for simpler cases) and a payment link. There is no members area without Squarespace member sites. The demo copy shouts in capitals, which suits a club and less so a gentle wellness brand. The animation set is large for a small site. The animations are SquareKicker features that stay in place after the 30-day trial but need a subscription to keep editing. How it is deliveredSquareKicker templates install through the SquareKicker Template Engine onto a new or existing Squarespace 7.1 site: connect the free SquareKicker extension, pick the template and it installs in a few clicks, with the choice of keeping your existing site styles or replacing them with the template's. There is no duplicate site to copy from. The purchase is one-off and includes a 30-day SquareKicker extension trial; you need a Squarespace Core plan or higher to publish, and SquareKicker template buyers get 10 per cent off a Squarespace plan.Related guide: compare it with the alternatives in our roundup of the best Squarespace templates for fitness businesses, or browse the Squarespace templates hub.
Héron is designed specifically for fitness and wellness businesses, offering a structured approach with dedicated sections for class schedules and membership information. This Squarespace 7.1 template simplifies setup by providing a clear framework, allowing you to focus on content rather than layout decisions. Testimonials further enhance credibility, making it an ideal choice for instructors and studios.
Accordion FAQ from Elfsight (listed on their own site simply as FAQ) puts a set of questions and answers on a Squarespace page in a collapsible accordion, a flat list or a multi-column layout. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform rather than native Squarespace code. In Elfsight's editor you type the questions and answers, group them into categories with their own titles and icons, and pick a layout and colour template. Answers accept HTML, so links, bold text and line breaks are fine. Squarespace 7.1 has its own accordion block that handles a plain FAQ well, so the case for this widget rests on categories, icons, the multi-column option and the styling presets rather than on the accordion itself.Key features
Three layouts: accordion (answer opens on click), list and multi-column
Categories with titles and a choice of more than 30 icons
Option to hide category names for a flat list of questions
HTML in answers for links, bold text and line breaks
Cross or arrow icons on the accordion toggles
Several colour templates plus individually paintable elements
No fixed limit on the number of questions
Who it suitsShops and service businesses with a long FAQ that needs grouping by topic (delivery, returns, sizing, bookings), help pages that have outgrown a single accordion, and anyone still on Squarespace 7.0, where there is no native accordion block at all.Honest limitsSquarespace 7.1's accordion block is native, free and quicker for a short FAQ, so only reach for this when categories or the layout options matter to you. Questions and answers live in Elfsight's editor rather than in Squarespace, which means your content sits in two places. The text is rendered by a script, so I would not assume search engines read it the way they read a native text block, and the widget does not add FAQ structured data to your page. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits, and because the FAQ loads from Elfsight's servers it disappears if your subscription lapses.Installation on SquarespaceBuild the FAQ in Elfsight's editor, copy the embed code and paste it into a Squarespace code block where you want the questions to appear. Edits made later in the editor update the page automatically.Related guide: see my review of which Elfsight widgets are worth it on Squarespace.
The Summary Block is one of the most useful blocks in Squarespace and one of the most limited: it stops at 30 items, full stop. Once a shop, blog or portfolio grows past that, you are stuck splitting content across pages or building clumsy workarounds. Lazy Load Summaries Block from Squarewebsites removes the ceiling. Install it once and the Summary Block can show every item in a collection, loading them in batches behind a Load More button so the page still opens quickly. What it actually doesThe plugin adds extra tabs to the normal Summary Block settings panel, so you keep editing where you always have. From those tabs you can switch on unlimited items, sort by name, title, author, date, price or likes, filter by several tags or categories at once (the native block only allows one), open item links in a new tab, show an alternate image on hover for products, open images in a lightbox, and adjust grid sizes and spacing. It works with products, blog posts, events and portfolio pages, and it can pull from multiple blogs through the vendor's Sync Collections tool or from a custom JSON collection. Developers get a hooks system for running their own code around the block.Who it suitsI reach for this on client sites with a large catalogue or archive that wants a single, filterable landing page: a shop with a hundred products on one page, a long-running blog, or a portfolio that has outgrown Squarespace's own limit. If your collections are comfortably under 30 items, you do not need it.Honest caveatsIt only works on Summary Blocks, not on collection pages themselves. Masonry layouts are not supported (simple and basic grids only), password-protected collections are excluded, past events cap out at 60, and a collection sitting inside a folder needs a quick shuffle out and back in before the block will pick it up. None of these are deal-breakers, but read them before buying.InstallationOne block of code pasted into Footer Code Injection, after which the new tabs appear in the Summary Block settings. Squarewebsites supports Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1, and it works on Personal plans too if you paste the code into a Markdown block instead. Licensing is a one-time payment per website with support included. It is also bundled free in the vendor's SquareTools Extension Pro, worth knowing if you are considering several Squarewebsites plugins.Related guide: see our roundup of the best Squarespace plugins in 2026 for the wider field.

Popup from Elfsight adds a targeted pop-up window to a Squarespace site for offers, newsletter sign-ups, announcements, feedback requests or a welcome message. It is an embeddable widget hosted on Elfsight's platform rather than native Squarespace code. In Elfsight's editor you choose a layout, arrange text, images, an embedded YouTube or Vimeo video and a form element for collecting emails, then set the targeting: which pages it appears on, which devices, how often, and what triggers it. Triggers include page load, a time delay, scrolling a percentage of the page, reaching a specific element, clicking an element and exit intent. You can show it once per visitor and schedule start and end dates for a campaign.Who it suitsShops running promotions, course creators and newsletter writers collecting sign-ups, and anyone who has outgrown Squarespace's built-in promotional pop-up, which offers one pop-up with limited triggers. A free plan is available to start with. One honest caveatExit intent relies on mouse movement, so it does not fire on phones or tablets, and Google's guidance on intrusive interstitials means an aggressive pop-up on mobile can hurt rankings as well as patience. Use delays and frequency caps. Squarespace's own promotional pop-up is included on Business plans and above, so check that first. Free-tier widgets carry Elfsight branding and monthly view limits, and the pop-up stops appearing if your account lapses.InstallationBuild the pop-up in Elfsight's editor, copy the embed code and paste it into Squarespace footer code injection so the targeting rules control where it shows. Later edits in the editor update automatically.
