What Althea is

Althea is a Squarespace 7.1 template from The Styled Square, built on Fluid Engine and designed for wedding and elopement photographers. The demo is written as a Vancouver based couples photographer with an editorial, romantic look: large imagery, serif headlines, numbered story cards and warm neutral tones. The old listing on this page called it a four page minimalist portfolio; the real demo has fourteen pages including services, a client experience page, a blog, a presets shop and a link tree, so I have rewritten this from the vendor page and the demo.

What it does

The pages included are Home, About, Services, Portfolio, The Experience, Blog, Shop, Contact, an Instagram link tree page, a 404 page, return policy, privacy policy, terms of service and a master layout page you can duplicate for new sections. The home page runs through featured stories, a short bio, a client quote and a booking call to action; Services splits weddings, elopements, couples and engagements; the Portfolio page links to individual story galleries; and the Shop is set up to sell presets or other digital products. The Styled Square include a Squarespace 7.1 video tutorial, template video tutorials, a photography sourcing workbook, a launch checklist and the demo stock imagery, and they install the template for you within 48 hours of purchase.

Who it suits

Wedding, elopement and couples photographers first, then portrait and lifestyle photographers, and creators who want to sell presets alongside a portfolio. The layout carries a lot of copy, so it suits photographers who want to tell a story rather than only show a grid.

One honest caveat

The demo relies on strong, consistent photography and a lot of editorial copy. If your images are inconsistent or you do not want to write, the template will look emptier than the demo. Installation is done by The Styled Square rather than a self-serve download, so you wait up to 48 hours and the template goes onto a new Squarespace site, not your existing one, unless you pay for their install service. And as with every Squarespace template, you cannot switch a live 7.1 site onto it.

Setup

After purchase The Styled Square build the template onto a fresh Squarespace 7.1 site and send a contributor invitation within 48 hours; you accept, they transfer ownership and remove their access. You then need a Squarespace subscription and a domain to launch, and they include an extended Squarespace free trial and a discount code. It is a one-off purchase for one website, with tutorials and email support included.
