Who Aperture is built for

Aperture is a SquareKicker template by Vative Creative, built for photography studios and agencies that sell high-end work: portraiture, fashion, commercial, event and destination shoots. It is not a lightweight portfolio for a hobbyist. The demo positions the studio as a premium service with a process page, a help centre and policy pages, which tells you the intended buyer is a business with clients, contracts and cancellation terms. It runs on Squarespace 7.1 through the SquareKicker Template Engine and the demo footer credits "Designed by vative, built with SquareKicker".

The pages and sections you get

The old listing said four pages. The live demo navigation shows far more: Home, About Us, Services, Portfolio with two project pages (Surreal Symphony and Neon Nights), Process, Blog, Help (an FAQ page with general and photoshoot question accordions), Contact, and Delivery, Privacy and Cancellation policy pages, plus a styled 404 and two "extra sections" pages that act as a parts bin. The store page counts 16 pre-built page layouts and 54 featured sections. The home page runs a full-screen hero, an introductory statement, a three-card services block (high-end portraiture, destination and travel, event and lifestyle in the demo), a portfolio teaser, a scrolling marquee, client reviews and a contact call to action. Services lists four categories with descriptions, and the Blog is a working Squarespace blog with categories. There is no shop and no booking block.

Design and customisation notes

Aperture is dark, high-contrast and typographic, with a "//" prefix on navigation and button labels that gives it a code-editor flavour. SquareKicker supplies scroll effects, sticky blocks, layered sections, sticky split and horizontal scrolling without any code. Because it installs through the Template Engine you can put it on a new or an existing 7.1 site and either adopt its styles or keep your own, and the modular featured sections let you assemble new pages from existing parts. It is a one-off purchase with a 30-day SquareKicker extension trial included; the site needs a Squarespace Core plan or higher (Business or Commerce on older plans).

One honest caveat

The whole design leans on large, dark, full-bleed imagery. If your photography is bright, pastel or documentary in tone the template will fight you, and swapping the palette to light mode undoes a lot of what makes it work. Also, the demo includes several extra sections pages and three policy pages that you should prune or rewrite before launch rather than leave as placeholders.
