Clove

Clove is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 templates, built on Fluid Engine, and it costs nothing beyond your Squarespace subscription. The demo is Clove Therapy, a mental health collective offering therapy, psychiatry, coaching and acupuncture in person and online, with a team page of practitioners and a blog. It is a health practice and therapist template; the class schedules and memberships that older listings described are not in it.

Who it suits

Therapists, counsellors, group practices, psychiatrists, physiotherapists and other health professionals who want a calm, trustworthy site with a team page and a blog. It also works for a wellness clinic or a nutritionist, and it is a sensible starting point if your budget is zero and you are comfortable editing Squarespace yourself.

Honest limits

Because it is a free Squarespace template, there are no video tutorials, no designer support and no done-for-you setup: you start a trial and edit it yourself. Thousands of other sites use the same starting point, so you will want to change type, colours and imagery to avoid looking like the demo. There is no shop page, and online booking means adding Acuity Scheduling or a third-party widget. Being a Squarespace starter, it can be changed beyond recognition, which is a strength and also means the layout offers less structure than a designer template.

How it is delivered

There is no transfer. You choose Clove on Squarespace's templates page, start a free trial and the site opens with the demo content installed. You then replace the text and images and pick a plan when you are ready to publish. If you already have a Squarespace 7.1 site you cannot switch templates in place, so Clove is for new sites.
