Huello

Huello is a Squarespace 7.1 template from Ghost, sold as part of their Paper range rather than as a plugin. It is a portfolio-first layout for artists, photographers and designers, with a hero, an about section, a gallery, testimonials and a contact form across its core pages. Ghost offer two versions: Paper, a non-branded clean slate you colour yourself, and Branded, with colours and styling already set. The template is built on Fluid Engine, so you edit it with Squarespace's normal drag-and-drop editor, and Ghost say it uses only a small amount of CSS for finishing touches, with a guide included. The licence allows personal and client use.

Who it suits

Creatives who want a minimal, image-led site up quickly and are happy to work inside Squarespace rather than commission a custom build. It suits a focused portfolio with a handful of pages better than a sprawling site with a shop and a blog bolted on.

One honest caveat

Delivery is not instant. By default Ghost install the template into a new Squarespace trial site and hand it over within 24 hours, and installing into an existing site is a paid Concierge upgrade. A minimal template also only looks as good as the images you put in it; with weak photography it will look empty rather than elegant.

Buy the Paper or Branded version, receive access to the installed trial site within 24 hours, then add your content and styling in Squarespace. Ghost include a template guide, an extended Squarespace trial and a discount on an annual plan.
