Modern Wave

What Modern Wave is

Modern Wave is a Squarespace 7.1 template from Websites by Elise, built with Fluid Engine and designed for therapists, counsellors, coaches and other service based practices. Elise describes the style as mid-century modern: warm neutrals, rounded shapes, generous white space and a calm, trustworthy tone. The old listing on this page called it a medical practice template with a Patient Resources page; the demo is written as an anxiety therapist's practice and there is no patient resources page, so I have rewritten this from the vendor page and the demo.

What it does

The template includes Home, Our Practice, Our Team, three service pages, FAQs, Blog, Contact, a custom 404, a privacy policy and terms of use. The home page moves from a hero with a consultation call to action into a practice introduction, a numbered services overview, a founder bio, an FAQ preview and a final booking prompt. Service pages share one layout you duplicate for each offering, and the team page is set up for several practitioners. It ships with a 10 module launch course covering customisation, content and basic SEO, 30 days of email support, and a discount on your Squarespace plan when you upgrade to launch.

Who it suits

Therapists, counsellors and mental health coaches first, then any service business that sells through trust and a consultation: nutritionists, health coaches, small clinics, solicitors and consultants. Elise's showcase includes a counselling centre, a health coach, an acne clinic, an HVAC firm and a personal injury lawyer, which tells you how far the structure stretches.

One honest caveat

Everything in the demo is placeholder copy, including the service descriptions, so you will write more than you expect. The three service pages are identical layouts, which is efficient but means the site can feel samey if you do not vary imagery. Modern Wave does not include booking; for consultations you will connect Acuity or a similar tool yourself. And as with any 7.1 template, an existing site cannot be switched to it, which is why Elise sells a done-for-you install add-on.

Setup

Buy the template and it is added to your Squarespace account immediately as a new trial site. If you have an existing 7.1 site, choose the done-for-you installation add-on at checkout and Elise installs it within 24 to 48 hours. You then replace fonts, colours, images and text, upgrade to a Squarespace plan using the included discount, connect your domain and publish. One-off purchase for one site.
