Ocotillo

Ocotillo is a free Squarespace 7.1 template built for a single event, specifically a three-day music festival. The demo nav has Line Up, Program and Tickets, with FAQ linked from the footer. The homepage states the city and dates, runs a large hero headline, then lists the acts day by day (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) in oversized type with a Buy Tickets link at the bottom. Line Up repeats the full bill on one page, Program groups the non-music schedule under Art and Culture, Health and Wellness, and Design and Future Thought, Tickets offers Day Passes and 3-Day Passes with Buy Tickets buttons that point to an external ticketing site, and FAQ is a simple list of questions and answers. Who it suits

Festivals, conferences, retreats, launch parties and any event that has a line-up, a programme and tickets sold elsewhere. The typographic layout holds up well with no photography at all, which is useful before an event has any imagery, and the day-by-day structure maps neatly onto any multi-day schedule.

One honest caveat

There is no ticketing built in. The Buy Tickets buttons link out, so you will be using Eventbrite, Tock, DICE or similar, and the demo FAQ is lorem ipsum from top to bottom. It is also a one-event layout with no custom code: if you run several events a year, you will be duplicating pages or rethinking the structure.

Setting it up

Choose Ocotillo in Squarespace's template picker or start from the demo, update the dates and location in the hero, replace the line-up text day by day, rewrite the programme and FAQ, then point every Buy Tickets button at your ticket seller. Everything is built with Fluid Engine, so adding a venue map, sponsor logos or a newsletter form is a drag and drop job.
