Splendid

Splendid is a Squarespace 7.1 template by Square Design, sold through the SquareKicker template store, built for beauty institutes, hair and beauty salons, spas and wellness centres. The demo is a beauty institute: a relax-and-refresh hero, a your-new-beauty-institute introduction, a what-we-can-do services grid, individual treatment pages for haircut and haircare, massage, facials and skincare, manicure and pedicure and make-up, a best-products block, a photo gallery and a newsletter strip. It is a salon and treatments site, not the gym class-schedule template older listings described.

What you get

• Fourteen page layouts: Home, About, a Services overview plus five treatment pages, Gallery, Blog, Contact, Privacy Policy, Legal Terms and 404, on Squarespace 7.1 with Fluid Engine
• Twenty-one SquareKicker sections covering hero, about, services, gallery, people, call to action, contact, legal and footer
• A services folder in the navigation so each treatment gets its own page and menu entry
• A pink, brown, neutral and white palette that changes in the Squarespace style editor
• SquareKicker animations: desktop overlay menu, footer reveal, sticky sections and scroll effects
• A one-off purchase with a free 30-day SquareKicker extension trial

Who it suits

Hair salons, beauty institutes, nail bars, day spas, skin clinics, massage practices and wellness centres that offer a menu of treatments and want each one on its own page for search. The gallery and the stylist-friendly people sections suit a salon that markets on its team and its finished looks. A single-treatment practitioner will delete more pages than they keep.

Honest limits

There is no booking engine: the demo mentions booking options but you embed Squarespace Scheduling (Acuity), Fresha, Treatwell or similar for appointments. There is no shop for retail products without Squarespace commerce. Fourteen layouts means fourteen pages of copy to write, and the treatment pages share one layout, so the site can feel repetitive unless the photography varies. The overlay menu, footer reveal and scroll effects are SquareKicker features that stay in place after the 30-day trial but need a subscription to keep editing.

How it is delivered

SquareKicker templates install through the SquareKicker Template Engine onto a new or existing Squarespace 7.1 site: connect the free SquareKicker extension, pick the template and it installs in a few clicks, with the choice of keeping your existing site styles or replacing them with the template's. There is no duplicate site to copy from. The purchase is one-off and includes a 30-day SquareKicker extension trial; you need a Squarespace Core plan or higher to publish, and SquareKicker template buyers get 10 per cent off a Squarespace plan.
