Square Hotel

Square Hotel is a Squarespace 7.1 template by Altitude (my own agency), sold through the SquareKicker template store. It is the sibling of The Hotel from the same designer: the demo is again a luxury New York hotel, this time with a Story page, a Rooms page, a Dine page for the bar and restaurant, an Area guide, a Gallery and a Specials page, with Book a Stay and Book a Table buttons on the home page. It is a hotel template, not the real estate or property listing template the old listing on this page described.

What you get

• Demo pages: Home, Story, Rooms, a room example page, Dine, Area (neighbourhood), Gallery, Specials, Contact and a privacy policy
• Home page sections for the hero with booking prompts, story, culture and personal service cards, cocktails and menu download, bedrooms, location and a newsletter sign-up
• Squarespace 7.1 with Fluid Engine, so pages and sections can be mixed and matched in the normal editor
• SquareKicker design and animation settings applied through the extension
• A one-off purchase with a 30-day SquareKicker extension trial included

Who it suits

Independent hotels, boutique guesthouses, inns and serviced apartments that want a warm, editorial look with brown and neutral tones rather than the cooler palette of The Hotel. The Specials page suits a property that runs seasonal offers, and the Area page gives you somewhere to sell the location. It would also suit a restaurant with rooms or a small wedding venue.

Honest limits

There is no booking engine: the Book a Stay and Book a Table buttons are links, so you connect your own reservation system or embed a booking widget. Its effects are SquareKicker settings, so changing them after the 30-day trial needs a SquareKicker subscription (the site keeps working without one). At the time of writing the product page on the SquareKicker store was returning a server error, so my page count comes from the demo site rather than the vendor's own list; check it before you buy. The demo copy is written for a city hotel. You need a Squarespace 7.1 site on a Core or Business plan or higher.

How it is delivered

SquareKicker templates install through the SquareKicker Template Engine onto any Squarespace 7.1 site, new or existing, with no duplicate site or copy and paste. You pick pages and sections, install them, then style and edit in the Squarespace editor. It also works on a Squarespace free trial while you build.
