What it is
Transmission is one of Squarespace's own free 7.1 templates, and the demo is a musician's podcast with a paid members' club. The home page is a dark, type-led screen with a scrolling marquee, the latest episode and a call to join Soundcheck. Behind it sit an About page with contact and listening links, a Podcast page listing episodes as posts with audio players, and a Soundcheck page pitching a monthly membership for demos, studio footage and merch. Login and Account links show it is built around Squarespace's member areas.
The old listing on this page described a general media portfolio. It is a podcast and membership site, and that is how I would use it.

Who it suits
Podcasters, musicians and audio creators who want episodes on their own site and a way to sell a fan club.
Honest caveats
The membership page is a design, not a working paywall. Selling member access uses Squarespace's Digital Products, a paid add-on or a Core plan and above, with its own fees. The podcast page is a blog with audio blocks; Squarespace can generate the RSS feed for Apple and Spotify from it. Free templates mean many similar sites, so change the type and colours.
How it is delivered
Free means the design costs nothing; you pay for a Squarespace plan when you publish. Start a trial from the template's page on squarespace.com and the demo content is installed for you to replace. Fluid Engine handles the layout, so sections are drag and drop.
